I just renewed, ran the quote through a couple of comparison websites and direct with the cheapest company they showed (for cashback reasons) and the same quote for the same company even done directly with the company varied by 50 quid (18%) over a 4 day period....
Sorry, for clarity I meant that I'd have to pay £8.20 in addition to what I've paid this year for my cover.
So for a £500 car, to a £15000 car, the insurance is an extra £16.40 a year? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I think it makes more sense than you think. People with a 15k car are less likely to crash it, and the bloke with the £500 car might end up crashing it into a £35k car.
The car is a relatively small part of any insurance premium anyway. You're really insuring yourself against a £1 million pound personal injury claim most of the time...“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Sorry I was just doing another anecdote on the craziness that is car insurance pricing. Probably your new car is actually 11.80 cheaper for the rest of the year and the 8.20 you have to pay includes a £20 change fee....I think....0 -
Just to update you all, I've bought some Alberto Balsam shampoo for £1 from Morrisons. I'll let you know how it goes.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0

I was wondering that too. Plus I guess a £500 car may be less likely to have an immobiliser and be easier to steal. Who was it posted the article about car insurance costs? You'd need to have your head tested to invest in a market with the characteristics of Detroit and do it from the UK. Having said that, there's clearly money to be made by someone who knows the area. Even somewhere as screwed as Detroit will have good and bad bits. It's just a crying shame that there are some stunning houses that fate has left in areas that now mean that they are only good for crack dens or drive by shootings. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? £5m in my case; legal minimum for work
I'd have thought the average policy was £1m cover, I do wonder however what the minimum is.

Two 48-hour tube strikes coming up in London - both Tuesday to Thursday, which does a good job of !!!!ing up the tube for the entire working week each time........much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

And possibly not the obvious one.
Edit: re men in kilts , generally a thumbs up I think.
I have enjoyed reading your thread, has made for interesting reading, though being lir, it is patently obvious when you are banging your head against a brick wall.
Sometimes when people have a snipe, I think cba and don't bother to respond. I think if people are snippy and rude, or call people names without debating, that says more about them as a person than it does you or me. It's always the same old suspects though, which is a shame because when they do try debating rather than mudslinging, theirs are often valid points. They remind me of those kids who sulk and take their balls home if the game doesn't go their way.
I am happy to be proven wrong, it's part of the learning process. I just don't feel a great need to be called a jetlag the same time.
ETA that should read jerk at, not jetlag. I love auto correct, it is so random...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
