NDG can you get about without the tube? Is that a daft question from someone oop North. Undoubtedly will be driverless trains. The first UK road trials of driverless trucks should happen this year. It's called platooning apparently. First truck is driven by a human and controls the following 9.
Depends where you're going! There have been driverless trains on the Docklands Light Railway from the start, I think, which was the 1980s.
When I'm going to Feltham next week, for example, I wouldn't take the tube in the first place, really. I get the bus to Waterloo and then an overland train. But the tube strike means the bus, roads and trains are all much busier than normal, so it has an impact on all forms of transport....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

DH has bis own man shampoo and would be very annoyed if I used it. He'd know too his bottles always look brand new, with the lids all perfectly aligned and the labels facing forward. Mine don't.
Re the shampoos. I actually have several bottles of conditioner for my lo-poo regime on the to at a time. I use different ones according to my hair's needs on the day.
Usually I just need moisture, but sometimes my hair benefits from a little protein too.
Since doozer recommended it I've been experimenting with the oil she uses and others BUT I'm finding it actually makes my hair greedier and drier. Having done more reading I'm not the only curly who finds this.0 -

Trying to support a bunch of people with a plea of "We're underpaid" is different to "We're underpaid, we work 60 hours/week at NMW". I'm sure MPs etc feel underpaid on their monster salaries, along with all the extra salaries they get for putting their name on headed paper under Directorships etc .....
When anybody is striking, you're never actually told what their conditions, agreements, etc, are so you can choose to side with them or not.0 -

You'll make a loss that day, maybe, but overall it's a tax offset item so not as 'bad' as if you were in employment and paying it out of post-tax earnings to commute to work.
I don't think so - it would be about £60-£70 each way! So I'll just have to manage.
This strike isn't about pay, though. It's about cutting ticket office staff. Which seems pretty bloody inevitable, because so few people actually buy tickets - we all use pay-as-you-go oysters or travelcards now....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Although you might look at the bigger picture and think "I'm loaded, I'll suck it up for my own sanity/safety and I'd hate to get morning sickness among the spitting classes on those days"
If you were silvercar I'd add "... just go easy on your expensive shampoo for the next 3 months, that'll cover it"0 -

Most of these type of freebies are in the big smoke; very little outside.
Oh .... I put off submitting my final written extensive report .... as I was still feeling nauseous and having flashbacks.... finally bit the bullet and did it ... so that's all behind me now. Job done.
Downside is my planned day today was: Go out, do the thing, return jubilant and get 90% of the tax return data together and organised and in order. That went out the window0
