I was given a shopping list, went shopping, and then was told off when I got home.
DW: "Why on earth did you buy an eclair?"
Me: "It was on the list."
DW: "That says edam."No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Thanks for asking,
Back at work and managing herself as best as she can. She has taken tomorrow as a day off and has her ex's horse for the day so will do outdoorsy stuff which is good. She is also engaging a bit more with the world - has gone over to his this evening, and is going out to a leaving do tomorrow evening. She will have her loan horse on Saturday so at the yard and all the social chit chat that entails. Her personal organisation is picking up, but it is small steps. This evening she even spoke a little bit to me about tricky stuff ..almost a first. A bit of light on the horizon I hope.
This is a tough few days for us all as it is the anniversary of a very difficult time, that she has planned ahead and is managing this herself She is doing OK.
I started my part time working this week so was a SAHM today and will be again tomorrow..timed to get through this weekend, and support us all.0 -

Best website to get just about anywhere by train is https://www.seat61.com
Did you know you can get to Venice from London in the same day by trains? I find the whole website fascinating.0 -
My DD won't fly but she gets around a bit in Europe (Sweden, Finland, Iceland etc.)

Yes, there are loads of places, but long journeys. Long journeys are ....difficult.
To explain more.....I'd struggle a whole day , for example, in normal seated position, and changes can be hard on a bad day.
Generally, physically everything is very good ATM, much lower pain, incomparable really, But I get so incredibly weary. Its very embarrassing!
To night I'm frustrated because my friend left eye is not cooperating. He's ( DH thinks its hilarious that parts of my body are 'he' ) is flickering in and out and being a bit disorientating. I'd leave him closed , but I have some '""visual' disturabance like occular migrain with closed eye tonight ( though feel fine) so not keen to do that either.
You see, I miss going away a lot, but in reality I'd probably go somewhere and have to sleep, but in a hotel bed worrying about my cats and my dogs etc and feeling bad because I was missing things..
Eit...also, cannot find my tens grrrrrrr.0 -

Brilliant. That's the sort of thing I do.
Well MiL is in the hospital now and someone has biggered something up. I think they might be operating today but it's hard to tell.
I picked up the pine cone thing today. I'll have a hack at it at the weekend.
I think I missed a bit of the conversation. Are Nikkster and Hamish getting into bondage? I'm a bit surprised as Nikkster didn't really come across as a dominatrix. Takes all sorts I suppose.0 -

Most sympathy lost when they demanded, and got, extra payments to agree to do their normal work without striking during the Olympics.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Nope, a lot more vanilla than that. Just trying to start up some conversation about mortgages and house buying (see, one toe on the ladder...).
Lir's thread is a lot more exiting.0 -

This strike isn't about pay, though. It's about cutting ticket office staff. Which seems pretty bloody inevitable, because so few people actually buy tickets - we all use pay-as-you-go oysters or travelcards now.
But the ticket office staff know the writing is on the wall and have been jumping ship for months... I know, I work with one of them. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
