Speaking of bacon...has anyone tried turkey bacon? I cannot remember if I have or not.....

Bacon for its own sake as opposed to an ingredient is unbeatable when its that you want I think...but when its a thing you fancy its hard to scratch that itch with out the exact thing IYKWIM.

Edit: I don't really see why quorn is necessary, there are so many things you can do that are tasty with vegetables that don't require a "meat substitute". Can't see the point. If you like meat, eat meat.

I think it's more a case of if you don't like soybeans, then eat TVP. Veggies need a certain amount of protein, and Quorn is one sort. We sometimes have Quorn pieces in sweet and sour sauce, which is almost acceptable. :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Vegetarian Indian cuisine does well with out much reliance on either. :)

How do Jews manage in rented houses, council houses and shared houses when it comes to the two sinks thing?

On the basis it takes a lot of money to afford a sole kitchen with space for two sinks, there must be most of them unable to do that.

2 bowls, then you just avoid putting food or dishes directly in the sink.

Sharing a kitchen with people who don't keep kosher is harder because you would really need to cover worktops that have had non kosher food on them as well as keeping all your food and cutlery and crockery and tea towels and any other utensils completely separate.

When we used to have family to stay I just emptied fridge and some cabinets, cleaned every thing with fir's cousin or aunt when they came and we just kinda pretended nothing was 'wrong'.

One of the cousins in that family is quite strict in dietary laws. The relative who' should' be , meh, less so.:D

I found it good fun, the preparation. Bonding.

Cannot remember much else. We used to talk LOTS about firs family and people who I had and hadn't met and, crucially, a lot about his mother, during those times. Cannot remember much about anything else specific.

O did just think of a packet food I like. Those little kosher crouton/cracker things. for chicken soup.

I think I Might have found some flooring I like for the cheese room!!!!

    Doozer girl.......

There are three I definitely like, though they are all a bit wide of original colour. M I'm sending the chap photos of it before we took it up and I'm going to have a look at them in the flesh.....

I think they might all be a little darker than the originals.....its so long since I saw the originals.......

(Hmm, I think they are all darker than the original floor.....sigh)

Speaking of the originals.....I think I'm going to have to remove photo bucket app and try down loading it again and pray it lets me back into account.

I'm wondering if, for ease as well as doing cheese room and lobby I should run it into the study too.

Plan was wood in study and the rest of the house, stone in back lobby and cheese room.

Looks lovely and very practical in the cheese room. I think it may be cold in the study.
