It's illegal to drive from Russia to Georgia unless you're a national of either country (or have Propiska from Krasnodar Oblast), although it will consider it illegal entry on Georgian side. I drove through legally last year, presenting Georgian passport to the Georgian army, and Russian passport to the Russian army.

Security procedures I don't know, as the main terrorism threat is deemed to be from Dagestan and Chechnya rather than Georgia.

Crikey, not straightforward then. For whatever reason, I imagined getting around would be much easier and that what you described would be put in place for Olympics rather than being the norm.

So where can Georgians travel easily to? Go on holiday etc. Are there ferries across the Black Sea, for example?

Sorry to be nosey, I like to find out about other countries and cultures.

It even mentions getting rid of the "toxins"! :rotfl:

Are you talking about pork ( which I agree with , I just think its an interesting theory..... I find lots and lots interesting that I don't buy into.....or think merits further thought)

    Or Meyr?

ATM western medicine is leaving me cold, upset, frustrated and scared. The dietary plan I'm on seems stupid.

I think a lot of how we eat IS curative in real terms, but also psychological ones.

    I never understood that...
It's been the same with Catholics saying the reason they got pregnant outside of marriage is because condoms aren't allowed..... er, no, neither's sex outside of marriage. I figured if you were going to break ONE rule, it might as well be BOTH those!

How do Jews manage in rented houses, council houses and shared houses when it comes to the two sinks thing?

On the basis it takes a lot of money to afford a sole kitchen with space for two sinks, there must be most of them unable to do that.

Sell on ebay for spares or repair? Or See if we can get someone to repair it/ make it functional for one of the much smaller buildings?

    Or just scrap it?
Ask on the relevant board here, where the heating types hang out.

gammon, ham & bacon. Pork is something I can take or leave.

With bacon I am still fussy, I trim all the rind off before cooking. I eat it very rarely, but love it when I do.
For the whole raft of porky things, I used to love roast pork and apple sauce when I was growing up - with the fat cut off. Just the roast meat.

I don't eat/like ham, bacon or gammon, they're all salty and fatty.

I do eat pork sausages, that are labelled as something else that I like, e.g. Cumberland Sausages.... but I'd not buy a cheap pack of pork sausages as when you're cooking them it's all very fatty.

I also am not interested in the crispy pork skin ... or pork scratchings.

I'm still waiting for the waterproof eReader that you can read in the bath without the pages ending up wet and crinkly. Or frying the eReader, of course.

Come on Amazon... imagine the advertising campaign!
Get a simple sandwich bag that's resealable - there are some intended for storing liquids in freezers. They'd be cheap/work.

Georgia was the main holiday destination for many Soviet citizens from Russia during the USSR, as certain parts remain so.

It's probably worth noting that Russians can visit Georgia visa free for 90 days, but there is no visa free the other way.

Many Georgians will take long break during the summer months to either the Georgian Black Sea coast, or the richer may go to Turkey or EU. Bear in mind that whilst there isn't a large number of Georgians in UK, there is in south of Spain, and also in New York.

Many Georgian also own second properties close to the coast. Those with property in Abkhazia region can't visit them since 2008, especially the Svani.

Sorry if I didn't explain properly, I'm in meeting now.

ETA: forgot to mention the border at Roki Tunnel is closed, but border at Vladikavkaz is opened since 2010. I took DD's to Grozny time before last, and didn't have problem at this crossing.
