Still, looking on the bright side it will all be smart and fresh when you are done!
Sadly we were just changing radiators. By moving location of the radiators we expected that we would have to redecorate in places, we wanted to redecorate the lounge, but the other rooms we thought we could patch up ok. It appears not.
In the dining room we had a curved radiator that fitted into the bay. This has gone and we are left with a silver foil lined bay plus a dug out area where the connecting pipes were cut off.
In the hall, the new radiator is in the same position as the old, but a different shape, hence we uncovered the lack of plastered walls.
In the study, you may remember from previous threads that we changed the desk to a backless one to allow the heat from the radiator to enter the room. Now the radiator is moved, the wall can be seen in all its silver foiled glory.
To access the many pipes a large section of the downstairs loo wall has been hacked away -ironically to protect the dining room wall from damage.
So we have now decided that we may as well change the downstairs loo ( but won't redecorate or change the floor).
We are also going to change the plug points in dining room, lounge and study. And then redecorate lounge, dining room and hall, stairs and landing.
The really good news is the kitchen floor has come up well after me deep cleaning the grouting and the parquet hall floor is intact.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It will all be worth it in the end.
We sometimes need a push to do things that need doing, so it is no bad thing, just some things that we hadn't budgeted doing at this time.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It will have to do.
You should have said it was Rural as in title of the movie "Rural Juror" (as in "30 Rock"):D
