I'm undecided wether to wince at the stair carpet or fall in love.

I'm actually impressed when I see an interior with that much individuality, though it's definitley not my style!

Impressed when its for them, wince when they haven't toned down a bit for selling.

(Here is the answer....perhaps they have )

A couple of the bathrooms and the white sitting room with the low grey sofa look barren by comparison.

    This was full daylight.

For those that know my place they were front garden birds, and found in the front garden, in the back garden, and the first yard from the back garden.

I heard a noise and ran out, but heard too late. :(.

Could you just keep a couple of dogs - oooh something big like an Irish Wolfhound and maybe another one that's quicker on its feet - outside during the day to scare off the foxes?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Surely that carpet cost a fortune? You don't see that in your average carpet shop. I'm impressed by the fact that they ever found it!

Wandering onto the subject of carpets, we used to have a warehouse opposite a carpet factory that usually made carpets for posh hotels, where the pattern had to fit round the pillars etc. One night I wandered in as was my habit then, and saw this bright green carpet. Grass green! i kid you not, it had abeen ordered by some Arab Sheikh for his stables:eek:.

lir, love the idea that is the toned down version:rotfl:

They shiver and whine and beg to be let back in.:o

The plan is to put them in an outdoor 'kennel' for day time use. Some where with raised, heated and wash down able beds can be where the plethora of kiwis toys can be chucked in, so they can do their job. ATM its simply not practical. Summer is much easier. But I think this time the fox actually approached from somewhere the dogs don't access alone any way (I think it came up from lake cake and along front of house or road side).

To make things kiwi safe other things need to be done, and its like that game where you drop the sticks and you have to pick up moving one without moving the others to work out which is the next job.

Its a bit round and round in circles, but longer term the dogs will be where the lawn chickens are and the lawn chickens will be where dogs are now, but for now its not possible. :).

Long term plans GDb, they are pita es!

I am looking out for good second hand kennels all the time though. I quite fancy getting them a play house rather than a kennel.

I've been in polo yards that have marble floors.

Horses, with metal shoes and slippery marble tiles are a really, really , really stupid combination.

Not being particulalry horsey, that seems a basic - slippy floor + metal shoes is not going to work.

I had a border collie that preferred being outside once, and I had one of those build you a shed places, make him a kennel, it had a sliding roof as well for in the summer so air could flow a little, yet still have some shade, and it was reasonably priced.

Playing catch up again. Starting with grey bathrooms... don't! I have one, came with house and its horrid. Pale grey suite and tiles always look a bit grubby, no matter how hard you scrub. A more slate colour would be nice, but in a typical tiny Brit bathroom would be too dark a d pokey. Can't wait to get rid of mine.

Thanks, very reassuring. Was thinking of white suite with dark grey tiles, but its only a downstairs loo, so think we will save the money and just change the suite.

Incidentally, Jewish NP s, was yesterday an orthodox holiday or event of some sort? Saw lots out and about, though could be for wedding or something I suppose.

No , nothing yesterday in the calendar at all. Rare to have a wedding on a Monday too. Are you sure you got the right religion?

I'm thinking of a play house on stilts, with a ramp where the slide usually is so that the bit under the house can have wood chip for summer lounging in the shade, but in winter the house can have heated pad beds.

Dog dog believes we should move to somewhere hot, now. Even though its been mild I've had to really wind her up to get her out to widdle. Se is a fair weather dog. Big dog would be ok outside all day, she WAS a kennel dog, and I actually think it would be BETTER for kiwi.

finally got my wood in, and had another drink and laid perhaps the most grudging fire ever lit.

Because I'm in all day and not doing much (though my kitchen is messy and needs a clean I should be out there) I have taken a lot of the smaller annoying pieces of wood that will require pretty steady feeding of the burner.

Gotta do it one day, might as well be today :)

You need reserves. We have firelighters from Costco. American idea, so don't know if you can buy anywhere else. One little match to light the paper at the end and a roaring fire for 5 hours. Works out about £3 a throw, so not for everyday use.
