I'm suffering the anxiety type symptoms this week; nervous, hard to concentrate etc. The decision is due, it is worth possibly 6 figures to us and being in one of the lower lifestyle categories we have been discussing over the last few days (no eating out or holidays abroard, 'new' cars normally costing up to 2k etc) that is certainly a life changing sum. I'm not sure how other people manage to keep such things out of their thoughts but it would be a useful technique for sure.

Isn't there fairly strong 'pre-selection' of candidates and controls on parties in Iran which I would have said qualifies the 'democratically' part of the whole process.

    Brrrr.

Nice frost today. First thing I feel was a parasite killer. :)

I have two measly logs left in the sitting room because DH didn't get to re stack for me at the weekend so I'm just about to go and get a barrow full.

We could do with some of that wind back you know, justa. Little breeze, I aired upstairs until just a couple of minutes ago and its still a bit condensation-y. :(.

I have the dehumidifier running down stairs.

Be careful what you wish for, some of the weather models are suggesting another mega storm fo the end of the weekend....

They are also suggesting the possibility of a cold snap/spell thereafter for pretty much the first time this winter. Being a boring old git I am probably in the 'one cold spell of the winter to give the kids soem snow play and kill off the bugs' is about right and other than that mild is fine as it keeps the fuel bills down and makes the commute more comfortable.

Me too, though having just had a gas bill and knowing that we've used a whopping 25% less fuel than the same three month period last year, I'm happy for the kids to wait until next year.

Is it 'that' decision? Do you have someone lined up to speak at committee?
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Yes that decision, not done anythign about committee yet as trying to avoid counting chickens. Was thinking of instructing someone from appeals company to speak for us in the hope that that might focus the minds of the councillors into thinking an appeal was highly likely if they went against the planning officer opinion but as I say any decision on that is for the future. I have done some 'lobbying' of a councillor on the committee in the past and will speak to her again if the need arises.

Playing catch up again. Starting with grey bathrooms... don't! I have one, came with house and its horrid. Pale grey suite and tiles always look a bit grubby, no matter how hard you scrub. A more slate colour would be nice, but in a typical tiny Brit bathroom would be too dark a d pokey. Can't wait to get rid of mine.

I wonder about the implications of the consistent raising of the pension age on the pension industry.

Is it worth saving into up to the age of 70, when you may only realise benefits for a very short period of time?

If you arrange your own pension you can retire at any time after 55. I'm still planning to retire at 65, no matter when or if I get the state one.

It's quite a paradoxical place aiui. Boys and girls can hang out together, within reason, and women can ask for divorce, albeit on far more limited grounds than here.

Incidentally, Jewish NP s, was yesterday an orthodox holiday or event of some sort? Saw lots out and about, though could be for wedding or something I suppose.

Me too. £45. Most of that's the s0ddin' standing order. I've not looking into changing providers, doesn't seem any point as I might find a house soonish....

Dark slate bathrooms are stunning, you see a few now....but....(sniggers) they'll mainly be popular in hard water area of London. I had a dark blue bathroom in London and it HAD to go for white. Dark bathrooms and hard water/limescale simple don't mix!

We did put a slate floor in mind, but I could cope with just doing the floor. Much better than the carpet that had been there.

It was a newish carpet at least and no loo in the bathroom. There was also carpet in the loo.:mad::mad:
