I never visited Romania and have never even been tempted to do so. I gather it was so badly mismanaged that went from being Europe's main oil producer (they used to offer cheap petrol to tourists) to becoming one of the poorest states in Europe as their oil was squandered.

India's interesting . Its constitution declares it to be socialist but its democratic credentials are strong enough to contain communist and mixed-economy regions in harmony. At one stage, it and Israel were the only two multi-party democracies in the whole of the Asian mainland.

I've been to Romania twice - once for 10 days, with my best mate, after our first year at university. Then the following summer, for a week, with my flatmate. It was a fascinating place, once you got out of Bucharest.

Isn't there fairly strong 'pre-selection' of candidates and controls on parties in Iran which I would have said qualifies the 'democratically' part of the whole process.

Apostasy is a capital offence in Iran, and anyone born into a Muslim family is assumed to be Muslim, and therefore membership of some parties, which want a secular state, is rather bad for your health.

Me too. £45. Most of that's the s0ddin' standing order. I've not looking into changing providers, doesn't seem any point as I might find a house soonish....

Cashback! You'll earn more than you pay!!

Dark slate bathrooms are stunning, you see a few now....but....(sniggers) they'll mainly be popular in hard water area of London. I had a dark blue bathroom in London and it HAD to go for white. Dark bathrooms and hard water/limescale simple don't mix!

We did put a slate floor in mind, but I could cope with just doing the floor. Much better than the carpet that had been there.

It was a newish carpet at least and no loo in the bathroom. There was also carpet in the loo.:mad::mad:

We had a slate bathroom in our old house. Floors and walls with black glass mosaic over the bath wall. I couldn't get a very good picture as it was small and, erm, dark. :rotfl: I did love it though.

    I've been Money Tipped!
finally got my wood in, and had another drink and laid perhaps the most grudging fire ever lit.

Because I'm in all day and not doing much (though my kitchen is messy and needs a clean I should be out there) I have taken a lot of the smaller annoying pieces of wood that will require pretty steady feeding of the burner.

Gotta do it one day, might as well be today :)

LOL. Yeah. I've always been offput as you have to put in real figures - and if you've no figures they use a guesstimate based on home size - and I probably use less than most modern softies so that'd be wrong too. So I always feared that any comparison site would direct me to the wrong company .... so I decided I'd just collect my data here, then switch once I've a house.

When I look at houses for sale, I am offput by some owners' use of black in the kitchen .... black rarely looks good, especially not in small/dark kitchens in tiny houses.

When I was lodging, she had black wall tiles, a black worktop, black sink, black floor, black table, black chairs in a tiny kitchen that never got any natural light - and with monstrously large trees outside.... couldn't see farq all.

You'll already be on a 'bad' deal if you're not on top of it, but the point is that if you are only using £45 over a winter quarter, then you only need to go to the company offering the best cashback, not the best deal. Don't tie yourself in on a special deal and you can switch again in a few months or whatever.

Comparing cheap energy deals is for people like me who can save £100-200 on bills, not people like you who don't even spend that. Cashback is a nice thing to have for me, your impetus to change is to get the best cashback offer itself, not a £4 saving on the bill.

It's like stoozing, not looking for the best balance transfer rate, iyswim.

    I like black.

    Used carefully.

Our fridge and cooker are black, and we have two black armchairs in the Cheese room. Our picture frames in there are also going to all be black and the art is quite dark. We're still umming and ahhing about dark winter curtains. I'd quite like a really dark floor, but conservation officer not on board and I'm not fussed enough to push it. I'd be happy with something that looked like the original.

What's I don't like are the new ness of the new stone tiles. I feel I Might ned to try and smash one or two, or nibble at the edges while a tiler looks at me in horror to try and beat them up a little in appearance.

    .

This one bright enough for you kitchenwise.

I'm undecided wether to wince at the stair carpet or fall in love.

I'm actually impressed when I see an interior with that much individuality, though it's definitley not my style!
