Interesting, we visit Mr M on Mondays as that is that is the day the offers change and we are very much end of aisle shoppers there and we did get a packet of cheese muffins with 50% extra but there was no mention of 2 for £1On an unrelated note, PN - not sure whether Morrisons is close to you or a special trip but they currently have English muffins on 2 packs for £1... and 50% extra free (so 12 muffins for £1). I've got a pack of cheese and another of cheese and onion to try
I've spent ages explaining to students that comas can't last more than a few days weeks or months at most. You have to exit into recovery, decline or a stable PVS.
Now the newspapers are saying the former Israeli Prime Minister's been in a coma for 8 years. They really mean he's been in a persistent vegetative state. Got to correct this factoid/ misconception next week before the young file it away with "we only use 10% of our brains " or similar tosh. Labour are talking about making teachers be licensed every few years. We speak to a few people each time.
How about the chumps who write the national news. Can we have them tested before they stand up and tell the world that fire's a liquid or potatoes cause earthquakes or simlar drivel!
So if you are showing brain activity but remain unconscious?I think....0 -

They have been at 2 packs for £1 since the week before Christmas week (my last visit to Morrisons) - noticed the sign said 'includes 50% extra packs' (or words to that effect) but there were only normal packs.
Was driving past last night so popped in and there were 50% extra packs and the offer was still on. It is a lot of muffins, but they should keep quite well in the fridge.
And I like muffins (esp with marmite)

If buying 12 muffins was a huge commitment in my house, i'd be dead from the strain of it all.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'm anticipating that they'll keep for at least 2 weeks in the fridge...0

PVS patients show wakefulness or a sleep/wake cycle, can swallow, open eyes when fed, may respond to stimuli with movements (but not communicate meaningfully), unlike people in a coma (who are neither sleep or awake).
They don't need life support beyond a feeding tube either as they're not brain-dead.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

My accountant is being extremely relaxed this year. The like to post in the last week. Up to me I'd post it six months early
Another year in which I've not been 'tax efficient'. Sigh. At least no one will ever be able to say we're not doing our bit for the economy.0 -

A friend'a kid took a tumble and was in a coma. Parents were told he could come out of it in days/ months/ years....or never.
In fact he came out of it after about 8 weeks. Took about a year to get to the point where he would be as recovered as he would ever be.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. When doctors say never they're probably trying to sugar-coat that the patient may decline or move into PVS which is regarded as almost-but-not-quite permanent after a year.
There's an incomplete motorway almost linking Glasgow to Edinburgh. It reverts to an ordinary road for a short stretch in the Labour heartland of Monklands. Causes havoc to drivers and there's loads of accidents, so many that the local major hospital had to devise a brain-damage scale still known worldwide as the Glasgow Coma Scale. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
