I like the armagedon threads where folk prepare and from the tone of it , look forward to, cold snaps, floods, gale force winds and the ruin that faces those of us without wind up torches.
Oooh... Forgot about those. I love those threads too. There are also some good hints in the slightly less armageddon out of here ones. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? A mildly frantic week chez NDG this week - I was in Feltham yesterday, RIchmond today, Feltham again tomorrow, and NDB left just over an hour ago for Sheffield, where he'll be until Friday evening. Isaac had his first day back at school today, too....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Yep.
I also want to ask you and NDG about my lovely green earring s which DH bought me and I put on last thread which are beautiful but just don't hang right,
I want to bend them but AMA bit nervous to without someone saying.....do it.
If in doubt, take them to a jeweller to adjust? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Garden centre earrings - almost certainly cheaper to break a couple of pairs experimenting, rather than take them to a jeweller's shop....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Two different pairs of earrings
Garden centre ones.....agreed, not worth fussing over.
The ones I want advice on are nice ones, but the hang 'wrong', sort of stick out, instead of down. Because I'm not used to earrings with no move, ent this feels doubly wrong, as they are sort of stuck out like gem ears. Or at least, that's how it feels. Might well look normal. You know when you get a bit fixated on somehting and then it cannot seem right?:o. When I get photo bucket working I'll take a pic.0 -

Ask someone to point you to the Dopester's dog preppers thread if you haven't already seen it.neverdespairgirl wrote: »A mildly frantic week chez NDG this week - I was in Feltham yesterday, RIchmond today, Feltham again tomorrow, and NDB left just over an hour ago for Sheffield, where he'll be until Friday evening. DKs back to school today. Finally had an evening where they were not bouncing off the walls and fell asleep not too late. Apparently everyone got a tablet for Christmas.I think....0 -

Sorry, I was being thick. It all depends on the factors PN listed. Not necessarily un-doable, but you need to be careful. Once photobucket stops sulking at you post away!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I randomly post on other boards. It's usually gobbledegook which gets debunked by someone who knows what they are talking about within about 30 seconds. The only place I actively avoid is discussion time because it is a nest of idiots and they clearly don't need another idiot.0

My parents were apparently singing that at church in one October half term, while I was on the last ferry back from France before they shut down owing to high seas (force 10 gale or something like that!).I know I've asked this before, but not for ages, and it's interesting to see what the new people think, and whether the old faithfuls have changed their answers, so... What other boards do the NP post on besides this one?
I browse most of the money ones, plus Marriages etc and In my home.
The marriages etc one is getting quite aggressive. A new poster writes about a situation in their life and many posters are almost immediately calling 'troll'. Maybe I'm naïve, but I don't see how this can be known in most situations, and it is just so hostile. I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt, and who knows - even if not a genuine post, it might help others who are reading and silently following. But no, people are so smug and crow so much when they think they've outed a troll.
It happens on the other boards too, but not to the same degree I think.
I'm a moderator on an allotment forum which has a policy of strong moderation to ensure that it remains friendly. Sometimes people up sticks and delete their account because they don't expect this - it's not like most other forums. We don't allow personal attacks and, to be fair, there aren't a lot of relationship type posts - but even on the growing boards if someone gets sarky or nasty to another poster, they will be challenged on it.0
