That's a sentence that needs grammar.

Not on strike then NDG? ;)

No - OH was doing employment law and I was doing immigration today; the strike was to do with publicly-funded criminal work.

No wonder LJ's mates were so very keen on it!

Hmm. I might suggest DH forward to old team as explanation for sadistic bosses aggressive tendency towards others :rotfl:

Great link, thank you. I enjoyed it a lot. I miss reading things that astound me about animal keeping. Like.....what ever happened to safari parks and safe reserve plans? Wouldn't that solve zoo overcrowding....big game reserves on a staged release over time ( feral herd creation?)

There s a thing on a bout mounted historical reenactment, which DH is quite keen on doing.

But he'd need a proper horse not a pony.

Glad to hear from you bugslet, have been thinking of you.
Those who know me .... will know that I've recently got a string of 80 Xmas tree lights.... yes, 80. Now, you'll also know that I like to "keep things nice" and devise systems to keep things nice.

I've just packed them away ..... and found a great way to do it, ensuring 100% that next Xmas they won't be tangled at all. And, having got to the end ... I am pleased to report they also fitted back into the original box, always a little joy of mine :)

Only took 15 minutes, in total, to remove them from the tree and wrap them up nicely and get them into the box.

What was the technique - I've got three sets to do?!

Well you're only human I suppose!

I feel quite sorry for the bloke. He's made a complete idiot of himself. It's still pretty funny though.

    I took a photo (as you do) .... http://i1366.photobucket.com/albums/r775/ephonepics/1401/1401-January-Misc/IMG_20140106_165148346_Crop_zps65b6116d.jpg

I took a loo roll insert and cut it. The length of the loo roll was a little shorter than the distance between the bulbs. I then sat and fed the bulbs/wires up/down inside the loo roll - leaving all the wires on the inside and all the bulbs at each end.

As I had 80 bulbs, about half way the first loo roll was filling up, so I started a second one next to it.

Once finished, there was the option of "sealing" the loo roll length where I'd cut it (using tie-wraps, sellotape or elastic bands.... but I didn't need to do that. Gripping each of the loo rolls meant I could then get them all into the box still in situ.

I'm sure there will be better/other ways I'll discover in future years, but this was my "instant fix".

That's a pretty good idea - means you don't worry about dropping 'loops' and, as you say, means it shouldn't get tangled in the box when getting it out.

Will give that a try .. will have to leave the lights up a bit longer (not really a shame, it always feels really depressing to take them down in such dark weather!) to gain some loo roll inners without the loo roll outers on ...

Well, you could just cut two rectangles of card and fold them round something to give them shape.....

But, yes, leave them up as long as possible :)
