I have no idea what to get for DS. He wants something which is not in budget so I think we'll give him some money, but I'm not really happy about the item that he wants to buy - a petrol motored remote control car. Doozer thinks he should be allowed to buy it when he has the money, but it seems such a waste of money. I don't even know where he's going to use it! I'd prefer to give him a gift instead but is it a mum's place to decide? .

Totally Mum's place to decide. It sounds a very expensive waste of money, to me, the car thing.

Perhaps you should think about moving to Feltham - I hear property is very reasonable there and so convenient for the airport....

There's a good reason property is cheaper there than in most of London - but I don't think it's necessarily good value......
Can't do that - her long curtains wouldn't fit :)

The girl's right. I'm never abandoning my curtains!

I can't believe Nice People are contemplating ways of killing me just because I don't like soggy bottoms! You wouldn't expect pastry at the bottom of a fish pie or shepherds pie! A pie is a pie! All that soggy pastry means less space for filling.

I'd put mash on top of both - don't quite see the savoury-pastry-pie thing, myself.

Don't listen to them tahlullah, not all Nice People love soggy bottoms :)

As long as you don't like mushrooms pretty much anything else goes on the NP thread.
    I think....

That is a very kind offer :) as much as I'd like to meet you and the family Fiat, I think you'll have something better to do late on Christmas Eve :A
Too late... he offered. Hold him to it ... then go out of your way to be a real nuisance too :)

Bl00dy nice people everywhere ... what's the world coming to??
  • Bah Humbug.

I'm not feeling remotely in the festive spirit yet. Which is weird.

Usually love Xmas, but can't seem to get in the mood this year.

As for pies, it's not a pie without a soggy bottom. :)

I'm with Spirit on this one, but surely the best death would be with a 'proper' pie

In Georgia (and much of the former USSR), the definition of a pie is with pastry all round. Nothing personal, but it's a bake otherwise.

With fish pie, the way I know it is either with potato (UK), or with pastry outer and a topping, but smaller overall so it can be eaten with hands (Georgia). It's literally known as either Fish and Potato bake (tevzi kartopilis), or Fish pie (tevzis torti)in Khalvashi household

I thought a 'bake' meant cook with pasta, unless it's a cake...

I started off counting the boys as dependents, but then I read it properly and, as they are over 18, they should be classed as adults, then I thought that DS1 shouldn't be in our figures at all.
But DS2 is at uni, so over 18 but dependent.

I didn't count James into the figures either.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
