I can swim, breast stroke with my head out of the water. But I can carry on and on and on. OH, who is much fitter than me, is always amazed that I swim faster than him and for longer.

Its a good way to swim for hours, but lifting your head puts pressure on the base of your neck and potentially the small of your back. If you aren't getting issues that fine, but just be aware if you do that it might be worth drooping your head.

I used to bob along in the sea like that for ages too. Now I think my neck/ back would shriek at me.

Google says its pea pie and pud.

I can only think of pud as pudding. Pud for 'spud' or potato. I didn't go through spud to get to potato, as obvious as it now is. Funny the phrases one doesn't think about origin. I suppose I don't think about potato that often!
I've still no idea what you're on about :)

While I'm asking questions, do the Inner Hertfordshire NPs have any recommendations for parking near Luton airport? There is a thread but wondered if you knew of any secret MSE places :)

You colud park at ours and we could drop you back but it would mean coming past 20 mins then going back again....
    I think....

Back from Feltham - and knackered. I need a lie-down before I tackle Afghan night, and OH has offered to bath and bed the Snow Frog, so I'm going to have a glorious nap.

Perhaps you should think about moving to Feltham - I hear property is very reasonable there and so convenient for the airport....

Made a steak and kidney pie on Sunday, with puff pastry lid only. Less pastry and healthier for you.
Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

    That's not a pie, it's a travesty!

If you're eating a pie, the last thing on your mind is how healthy it is .... it's all about how lovely and thick and gravy-sodden that bottom crust is .... and how much pastry we can get onto our plates.
    :)

In fact.... I don't need any meat/filling, so long as I can load up with pastry and gravy.

    HERESY!

If this wasn't the nice people's thread I'd be getting the bonfire ready as I type...
