In our house you'd have had to make them with just meat. No two people, never mind three or four, could possibly have ever agreed to the other ingredients

One could never eat onions, another didn't like things all mashed up together .... and so you'd always start from a losing position.

Well, some one likes chips, or sausages and gravy and eggs. What a great deal!

Hm, when I lived in Manchester I learned to appreciate chips and gravy.

Never been a fan of baked beans. They are the evil result of a marketing campaign to add a healthy element to an otherwise perfect meal.

I prefer to bung the sausages in the oven personally, freeing up a spot for another deep frier for more chips.

Spam fritters, one of my school dinners, were lovely. Although I remember the batter was fatty and the spam a bit thick, I do remember that spam fritters, chips and beans or peas was a good school dinner.

I quite fancy an actifry.

I recognise this as an absolute triumph of marketing.

I almost never make chips. In fact, I'm trying to think if I have ever made chips. I don't really fry much. Otoh if I'm on a mainly potato diet maybe would be nice to munc on low fat chips.
