We abandoned Isaac with his grandparents, aunts, great-uncles and uncle today, and went for the 20 week scan - 5.5 hours in the ante-natal department, and got told to come back in 10 days time, as the baby utterly refused to co-operate and have all its parts measured and assessed.
Still, importantly, the parts that they did measure were all fine and dandy, and we are expecting our second son. Like a typical male, it hid all the important bits but had its legs wide open so that was a clear result (-:
We got home as everyone else was starting dinner (good timing, walking in through the door and getting presented with a plate of grub). Isaac put a bit of a stop to the conversation when he said, "how do they know it is a boy? Did they see his penis?". Seemed a perfectly sensible question to me, but my Dad looked as if he didn't need more information, and everyone else was trying not to laugh (-:
Bless Isaac. How exciting! Did you ask to know the sex? We decided not to find out until they were born. Luckily as the hospital had a policy of not telling.

Hello NPs, we're back. I deliberated trying to catch up. Because we're doing nothing today, I'm giving it a go! I'll have two windows of the thread open so I know where I am. I have a feeling I may be defeated as I've just realised I'm on page 14 of 47.
I hope everyone is having a nice Twixtmas?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I've never done it myself.
I'd also be wary about complaining. You never know if some drunk kid decided it would be fun to throw the rubbish about... unless you see the bin men actually making the mess.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

I'm still fathoming out how to use this Forum, but I like the idea of Nice People. In my world I like things to be sunny and cheerful.
A lovely man that I know always says if you can't feel wood round you when you waken up in a morning (a coffin), you know it's going to be a good day.
Very true!
I know a man that says that a lot, he's super. Before you open your eyes, push your elbows out a few times to checkEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I was somewhat bemused though that if I had read this before Christmas, they'd have been suggesting that I wrap my gifts in brown paper, or buy people a tree instead. Bah humbug!
a] It's paper, chuck it in with the paper.
b] Try to find it on the website, decide the website's rubbish and lob it in with the usual rubbish.
Recycling is much harder than you'd believe... every council is different, with different rules .... it's unfathomable to the man in the street .... and they wonder why we don't bother. Maybe we bothered and simply didn't understand.0 -
I suspect this is an example of bad science http://www.technologyreview.com/view/513781/moores-law-and-the-origin-of-life/ . It falls under the straight-line fallacy. (i.e, just because all the datapoints you have fall on a straight-line, it doesn't mean that the datapoints you don't have fall on the same straight-line)“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

It seems that the LiR dilemma has been snipped, but (judging from the responses) I'd be careful. Whatever is going on there sounds reasonably dangerous, and if you get involved the person may come after you too.
Particularly if you are vulnerable.
If you think it's still going on the most appropriate response might be to contact the police. If it isn't, I'm not sure you can win by bringing it up again.
Nothing so dramatic I think.
It went ok. Lunch was gorgeous, though not at Howard's house, it was at a decent alternative. Nice food on my banned list ( a d taking pictures of some of it....I am so rude these days) distracted me a lot. They had non alcoholic cocktails and beautiful surroundings a d super service.
We managed to have lots of other things to 'discuss'. I think I might have come over a little hamish without the alcohol tasting.0
