I know a couple of men who have married images of their sisters - scary and one who has married a younger version of his mother - even more scary.
I do wonder if these people had such happy childhoods they want to recreate them. Maybe people just get to look like each other after living in the same environment and eating the same foods for decades that they start to look like each other and therefore their siblings. Or maybe it is self love and they look for someone who is the opposite sex image of themselves.
One of OH's sisters has married someone that is similar to OH. We are amused by this as he doesn't get on that well with this sister.
I have an ex husband trying to recreate our marriage with his new wife, right down to the dinner plates we used to use!
Now that is scary....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
:oVivas game is excellent but hard, it was easier oddly, before I realised you could used the street view tools:o. So I was using just the photo images. The first just blank road side of flora indicators was a bit tough......but buildings and landscapes helped and was within right ball park all but once on first go.
Now I know there is no reason to be more than a couple km out I cannot settle for less than perfection. :mad:0 -

Set yourself a time limit lir, that way you can't be perfect every time. At least I can't, maybe I don't know street view well enough. It's more spin round, do you see a sign, yes, focus in on it, oh, it's in cyrillic and there's an onion dome church in background, therefore stick pin in Russia. There's not a lot more you can do in a minute. I've played it the other way, which takes the guessing out, but it isn't fun. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? OH said that with a younger brother, and no sisters, and a son, but no daughters, he felt that a girl would be outside his comfort zone. But he usually likes being outside his comfort zone, so perhaps it would have been a good thing?

They refuse to take the rubbish away if it is shaped a bit funny (reminds me of a joke we had about the cleaners at school "I'm not cleaning that it's dirty!!) and they wake me up every Monday morning at 5am by intentionally knocking the bins over. I'd rather burn a ten pound note.Er, the reason that people "tip" the bin men is to stop the things you mention happening.
"Tip" = "Bribe"
Our bin men are good. They come on the day they are supposed to. Our bins are sited near the end of the drive, so need moving only about 3m to be ready for collection, occasionally if we have forgotten, the bin men move them themselves! We've not yet had a bin rejected because it contains the wrong kind of rubbish.
We have had rubbish rejected by the[STRIKE] tip[/STRIKE] recycling centre.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Just watching the news. The longest production run of any vehicle in history - the Volkswagen Combi camper van - will come to an end on new years eve when the last one rolls off the production line in Brazil... If anyone feels a pang for one, the last edition costs £25k though goodness knows how you would get it here. It is being phased out because it no longer meets Brazilian road safety requirements such as airbags and they can't be engineered in.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Well we had a lovely day today.
It was Mrs Generali's old neighbours' Boxing Day party. We had a good Aussie Xmas meal of ham and roast turkey done on the BBQ with a bunch of salads. Then Xmas pudding, pavlova (of course) and a Tarte aux Prunes that I brought along.
'Grown ups' (over 60s) in the dining room. Kids (30-45s) at the outside table and the others (under 15s) had to find space where they could. It was all very relaxed and easy. Nice conversation. Some congratulations on events for the year, some envy (a mate has just started a year off from the Army on full pay) and a few drinks.
I've been having some problems with anxiety lately and decided to try stopping using cafine. Bizarrely, one of the side effects of quitting can be insomnia! So here I am at 1.30am with no sleep in sight.0 -
Gen, I'm sorry you've been feeling less than perfect. I love caffiene.
It does make me feel a little 'edgey' but.....oddly, I think I feel a little more comfortable that way.0 -
I have to monitor my caffeine intake carefully or I get too buzzy.
I also tend to get headaches if I withdraw completely from caffeine.

Waitrose have an interesting policy when applying discounts.
Just bought 3x spaghetti and 1x lasagne ready meals. The spaghetti was originally £2.49 and the lasagne was £3.99. So retail price £11.46.
The spaghetti was buy 3 for £6, and all ready meals were 10% off with a my waitrose card.
The 10% off was applied to the total giving a £1.15 discount
The 3 for £6 was also applied to the total giving a further £1.47 off.
The spaghetti was reduced from £0.79 and the lasagne to £0.99. So further discounts of £8.10, taken off after the other discounts were applied.
Total cost of the lot was therefore 74p. Idiots. Freezer will probably break down now.0
