My mum wore hers to work on Saturday.

Does she work in a onesie shop?

Planning to take lots of photos of DKs in their onesies for blackmail purposes when they are older (evil grin smiley)

For my 18th birthday, I had a few friends round for an evening meal. My Dad spent the evening before (after shoo-ing me up to bed while Children in Need was still on - can you tell I still haven't forgiven him? :p ) sticking up the various embarrassing childhood / growing up family photos around the downstairs rooms and doors ... :o

I was seriously unimpressed  . My friends, on the other hand, thought it was hilarious :rotfl:

    lir dilemma.

I think you always have to remember who is the relative and who the outsider. So if it all goes t1ts up, it is the relative crying on your shoulder and the one you will need to support and comfort.

So to prevent any major upset in the future it is in order for DH to say quietly "you do know what you are doing, given the episode in the past, that lir and fir can put behind us, if that's what is required. And if that sounds too much like reserving the right to say "I told you so" in the future, well so be it. Far better that it comes from DH quietly than from you publicly. Nothing wrong with you saying on introduction that you remember him from ages ago.

Given the history, one of them is mad to want to hook up with the other and you don't know which. But that's love. Let them get on with it.

I'd never wear a onesie. Too much like hot pants of the 80s and such a faff to go to the loo.

  • Sorry to not-read and run, but I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas - we had a great time, and I've not been touching computers, too much else going on.

We abandoned Isaac with his grandparents, aunts, great-uncles and uncle today, and went for the 20 week scan - 5.5 hours in the ante-natal department, and got told to come back in 10 days time, as the baby utterly refused to co-operate and have all its parts measured and assessed.

Still, importantly, the parts that they did measure were all fine and dandy, and we are expecting our second son. Like a typical male, it hid all the important bits but had its legs wide open so that was a clear result (-:

We got home as everyone else was starting dinner (good timing, walking in through the door and getting presented with a plate of grub). Isaac put a bit of a stop to the conversation when he said, "how do they know it is a boy? Did they see his penis?". Seemed a perfectly sensible question to me, but my Dad looked as if he didn't need more information, and everyone else was trying not to laugh (-:

Wow, what a fantastic place to live. Where the Authorities have the foresight to provide free facilities which allow people to come together and share, food, sun and fun.

    Just jealous to be honest.

The Forestry Commission woods that are opposite our house have communal BBQs. Fab toddler play ground with teepees and a tree house etc and a scrambling park for older children.

    Sunshine optional.

LIR - even fianc! did something bad to SIL or SIL did something bad to fianc!. Either way it seems the wounded party has forgiven the other so is there any need to do anything especially since you don't know which way around it was and if you get it the wrong way around it could go horribly wrong? If I was in the situation I would probably speak to the SIL beforehand about it, rather than raise it in any way on the night.

Agree with this. In the Nicest possible way this is not your current concern and I would not mention it to them. If you have any lingering concerns then find a time with her alone and perhaps say that you know of a time when the was some talk of violence/abuse/worries in their past, and that you are willing to listen and help if it is ongoing/reoccurs.

Domestic violence happens in all sorts of relationships, and marriages do take place after it has started.

Lovely news...thank you for the update.

You do realise we will all want to be at the birth, or PN at least with her camera.
  • I'm not sure I quite see labour as a communal activity.....

I guess Miriam has gone down in. The name stakes then.

Boys are nice. I like boys..

One of the two best options.

Besides, you know you do well with boys, you've got one nice one already :)
