Chewy's right. I don't see the subject can be broached unless privately with SIL. There's nothing positive can come from discussing the past and maybe what's happening next for them's where the conversation has to lie. Otherwise expect an evening of Foot-in-mouth syndrome.:(

So what's the first thing you say...

Hello fianc!, this is lir, lir, fianc!.

I cannot think what they will talk about.

Have to say I hand it to both the men for meeting up, its all so terribly well behaved. I just hate domesticated elephants. :(. It would never get o this stage were it my call. I would do what you both have said, have discussed it EONS ago.....

Patience is not a virtue of mine which means passivity never will be one of my failings.

    Chewy,how wise.

I aspire to that sort of view. Yes, yes. This is just right...it's their business. Nothing to do with dh. Haha, egotistical :rotfl::T. I shall tell him we have been unnecessarily self centred when he is back from kitchen. Thank you. This is very good.

I still think its gonna be one hell of an awkward meal but....what's a little awkwardness but the perfect pairing for indigestion.

What it actually means is I will talk non stop and embarras myself to save everyone else. :o

You seem especially chilled these days may I say? It suits you well.

I would probably aim to bring it up right at the beginning, then completely fail to do so. Then after a drink or three too many it would spill out of my mouth in a very inelegant manner.

Chewy made a much better suggestion though, so I would go with that :)
  • Did you make any nice cocktails hamish or just swig taste like a teen?

    Yes.

i wanted one with a tail and little ears on the hood but alas i just got a boring plain one. I wonder if it is allowable for dress-down fridays.

I'm pretty sure that if I was in oz I'd be doing a barbecue christmas on the beach, with a bucket of ice-cooled wine.

Not as silly as me in my crocodile onesie I bet ;)

Sue, parents should be for the whole year round, not just for Christmas. I expect no matter what your ex bought the boys it wouldn't change how they feel about you/ your gifts. Form everything you've said, they're much smarter than that :)

I secretly worry that they will become the standard dress for the future. Kind of like in the middle ages when people were sewn into their clothes for the winter.

Perhaps they'll fit remote controls and mobile phones into the sleeves. And the tail can be stiffened to turn into a chair.

They'll look back at us as we look at the days when everyone wore tights, wigs and face powder.

At least I'll be ready. And I'll have a tail (and a crocodile mouth).

My onesie is for special occasions only, it won't be replacing my usual joggers/ hoodie combo for everyday lounging :)
