The venison was very good, not dry at all. I followed PNs advice and just roasted it , did it for 15 mins per lb. Must remember to do it more often.

My swimming is terrible. Dreadful technique. Breathing useless and my legs drop down. Breast stroke is worse. As for distance I am talking lengths not miles.

Pretty hard to beat at sitting in a lilo chair (which comes to villa holidays:o) sipping a drink though (I even have plastic beakers with a hole for a straw to avoid spillage:o).

Ok, so I got an email saying a company tried to deliver and couldn't ..but no card......

So I think they went to my neighbours.......I was here when they said they tried to deliver and for part of the time,....in my front garden.
  • Morning all NPs - another day in Feltham today; I've spent far too much time there of late. Hope you all have fantastic times.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

If only these institutions were in some place much nicer, it could mean a lovely lunch break. Nice shops in Terminal 5 at Heathrow.

I included all my benefits too - child benefit, child/working tax credit, and widowed parent's benefit. And I included my widow's pensions from both LNE's pension schemes, and my kids' survivors' pensions too because they're payable to me to spend on bringing them up until they're old enough to deal with their own finances. Since they don't need special food/therapies/equipment and your youngest does, I think it's fair for me to include my kids' pensions in "my" income and for you not to include your youngest's DLA.

ETA When we first started getting these pensions when LNE died, I checked with HMRC, and my kids' pensions don't count as my income for tax credits calculations. Which explains why I still get tax credits at my level of income.

I started off counting the boys as dependents, but then I read it properly and, as they are over 18, they should be classed as adults, then I thought that DS1 shouldn't be in our figures at all.
But DS2 is at uni, so over 18 but dependent.

What score did you get in the end?

I'm better off than I feel I am - apparently in the top 13%, not too bad for one person. When Mr Bugs was earning, we were, erm, very well off. Oddly I don't feel it as I drive round in my 7 year old ex Postman Pat van, parked outside my cheap house.

I think I can swim about a width. Doggy paddle:o. The school I went to had its own pool, but I was never a water baby.

Nice start to the thread Spirit:T

Internet free zone at the weekend, part of my decompression plan!

Not going great at the moment. Waiting for a call from the GP. Mr Bugs' brother and I are asking for the fluids to be withdrawn as he has not eaten or drunk literally anything since Thursday. He's down to less than six and half stone now. We seem to be prolonging his life for no good reason.

Oh bugs. I hope you have real people to support you as well as pixels, but remember we are here for you if there's anything we can do or say.

    <hugs>

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)
