Tsk. Us single ladies have to know look after ourselves. If I were Michaels, I might makes some kind of battery-powered-related joke. But I'm not, so I won't :)

I was going to say something about the batteries between the thighs trick but I have seen that one before on youtube so didn't think it was worth mentioning in case you got all embarrassed....

I thought you'd not be ancient enough to remember that.

My main comic as a kid was Roy of the Rovers, but for years I used to have Buster too.

My brother & I used to get frequent annuals for christmas.

    I did like the numskulls.

Our road has suddenly gone ultra-competitive in the outdoor lights category although still so far remaining wit in the bounds of taste (mostly lots of blue/white strings and icicles) so we have been beefing up our outdoor display and now have the '7 candle' thang, a santa sligh and a large led star in the windows and a string of white leds on the tree although this would be better if we could find a set with a longer lead as we currently also have a 2m line of sparkly ground lights, either that or we should have planted the tree closer to the house.

Tomorrow evening DD 2 is being an angel (or possibly star)....
Why are the police car blue ones tasteful I wonder? I agree they have been adopted as so but outside of this time slot you see that colour and it means sadness or badness.

I'm also going to borrow your thoughts for Bugslet. I find it very hard to know how to say these things on here when NPs have troubles because I worry it many come over as glib or insincere, without the non-verbal IRL cues it is so hard. So thank you also to GDB for expressing what we all want to say to Bugs so well. :T

:jI think you belong with me among the Comic Cognoscenti. I shall propose your membership at the next meeting.
Sadly, membership brings few benefits but surptisingly many costs so I'd appreciate a hefty cheque from you ASAP, non-refundable. Kryptonian credits not accepted nor Chewey's preferred electrocurrency batcoins which seem to be interfering with his telly.

Oh what the heck, it's Christmas - all NPs are eligible to join if they've got deep enough pockets!

We've toned it down this year...:o

That all looks like huge fun.
I am feeling we are a bit restrained now.

How can you be grumpy with a 5ft Santa?

DD graduated for her MA today, so we watched , felt very mumsy and proud, had a celebratory lunch at a place of her choosing -in our local pub. Had friends over this evening, drank wine and DD was with us and chatted about her interests - culture, communications, and crossing borders - the irony of her not wanting to leave the village was to quote PN, whoosh.

We have offered her a long haul trip as a pressie. She will have fun choosing where/when.

My house is at the bend in our road. In one direction, most houses have some outdoor lights or lights in the windows - no figures or writing, but strings of lights, icicles, that sort of thing. In the other direction, nothing. My kids refer to that direction as the boring half of the road.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
