It may not be clever but I do enjoy it and if they phone me up uninvited then I quite happily tell them to get lost. And not in any sort of polite way either.

That is the only way that a cold caller would be getting my home phone number, so anyone who rings that is fair game as far as I'm concerned.

I'm ex directory too , but I've never felt the need to be abusive to callers.
Are you telling me" they are asking for it" , when they apply for this job .
I don't think they need their own automated dialler to get employed.

That's right -they are asking for it. The only way they are dialling my home number is if they are random dialing - it is not listed and never given out.

If they want to disturb my evening trying to sign me up for crap then they have to accept the response they get.

If I can bring them to tears (which I have done on more than one occasion) then even better. I've got a few of my better examples on my YouTube channel - they're very popular and all the comments are positive :rotfl:, so it looks like I'm not alone in disliking the scum.
