hi all!
was hoping to do some more baking this afternoon but we have had no water since lunchtime:mad: some sort of mechanical problem at the pumping station, hope it gets sorted soon! luckily we had a bit of bottled water in the fridge from our water filter but that has gone now, just gave the last of it to the dogs.might have to go and buy some:eek: !
off to pigeon club soon with DH to get his baby birds innoculated against disease so a fun filled interesting evening ahead for me!
Kyle - hope lo is ok xx
take care xx
edited to say our water is back on! yippee !!!!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
thanks everyone for your concern for LO or lorenzo
and for thinking about me too, think kyle will be too tired to post tonight, well i told her to go to bed early anyway, she will give you all the news but the op went well and the pins were taken out so he should have his plaster off in two weeks, thank goodness
had a long wait at the clinic yesterday but lo was very good then a warning light came on in the car on the way home thankfully near a garage, just needed more brake fluid and the lad wouldnt take anything for it, when folks are tired small kindnesses like that give such a boost
forecast heavy rain for tomorrow so good chance to get the house cleaned after i have been to the library, i requested betty's wartime diary
hugs to everyone, hope all went well this afternoon jackie00 -
Evening all and big hugs to all those feeling down or with medical nasties.
Well my bl**dy computer has been playing up so much I haven't been able to get online without the line dropping every 15 seconds or so but after some tweaking and a new phone line thingy it all seems a lot better. Goodness I missed you all - I haven't even known what housework I'm supposed to be doing.
Blimey - I just got told off by dd for typing too loudly in the midle of Totally Dr Who - it's not like we don't watch all the repeats or have all the books!
I am feleing overwhelmed at the minute with stuff to do - exbil is coming to stay in two weeks and the house needs decorating let alone cleaning - he also tells me that he is on low GI diet so I will need to do some research there. I have no leave left until December so he will have to look after himself to some extent.
I am also trying to sort out dd's schooling for the year after next. The local school performs really badly and her practice SATS were excellent so I am trying for some of the local Independent schools with scholarship schemes. This goes against the grain for me a bit and her father is threatening to take me to court if I pursue this (on what grounds I have no idea but I expect it made him feel better to say dramatically "I'll see you in court then... " before stormng off :rotfl: ) but the feeder school is quite tough and she is quite geeky - maths and dr who obsession says it all really.
Bad day at w*rk too - I have been retraining someone who is very lazy and always says that she doesn't know how to do anything. She refused to let me sign off the training today as I haven't trained her properly apparantly. Well I am an accredited trainer, I am also the third person to train her on this work, I have trained over fifty people, and I'm bl**dy not having it. She is not in again til thursday so I am going to sign her off then whether she likes it or not and can take it up with her manager. Goodness me. see what happens when I can't rant off to you lot for a couple of days.
have a great evening
stefI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

Hi everyone
Looks like the site has been playing up again like it did when I lost my long missive on Wednesday. so I will be posting this in sentences and editing each time.
((hugs)) to all, Glad Kyle and LO OK, and hope we hear from Jackie0 soon.
stefejb - have no qualms about the independent school. After getting totally frustrated with the comp. our DS was at even though statistically it was one of the best in the area, we managed (with help from my M&D) to move our DS to one at the half terms of Y10 as a day pupil. The best thing we could ever have done for him. He grew in confidence overnight, it was a respect thing from teacher to pupil and vice versa, plus only 12 in the classes. He would not have been a uni if we had left him at the comp. I know there are mixed feelings, and my DH was concerned, but it totally won him over too.
Taping Glastonbury for DS after he called to say please tape it for me, even though he is there?
Got my OS head for tea tonight, had some Lidl Pork Lion slices in, so cooked them after sprinkling them with sage, mustard, wine vinegar and honey with a cooking apple, served with mashed potatoes, carrots and cabbage. followed by a Lidl fresh pineapple.
Off to watch Piorot - Goodnight

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Just wanted to say I am totally neglecting you all just now - really stressful at work with builders (Bob the Builder stuff in the first instance and noise levels with the digger etc terrible. DGS2 so into Bobbidee (Bob the Builder) he would love it! Plus end of school year stuff). Builders (site foreman who is a Grandad of same age grandchildren) has said bring him in sometime over the summer and he can do the sitting in the big stuff when switched off! He will love it! Also DD in final stages of pregnancy and had another wee wrinkle through the week. Due date two weeks today. Suffice to say every time phone goes at work or here at home I think - this is it!!
Weather here over weekend forecasted to be awful so still no garden! Usually hanging baskets planted early May and bedding out by now - nothing bought! And it is the Scottish Highland Show this weekend which is usually a wash-out weather wise! Nothing new!
Just wanted to say love, hugs, congrats, and so sorry if not good news for anyone.

Am back on the internet - wahey - albeit on my old laptop as couldnt connect to the wireless network on the new one. Will call up my PC man and get him round next wk asap to sort. Printer worked ok and all the software seems fine. Its going to take me a while to get used to the vista though.
Did some housework today, went for 'quality' rather than 'quantity' and cleaned the kitchen windows, living room windows, hoovered whole house again and deep cleaned the front room. Didnt do anywashing or touch the upstairs but it will be there for another day.
Looking forward to going to Belgium/France tomorrow, going to stock up on olive oil and salad dressing whilst there, also will be having proper french croissants for Sunday breakfast. Might have a good look at the meat in Carrefour and see if can buy anything interesting.
JackieO - I really hope it went well for you today at the hospital.
Off in a min to watch Dalziel & Pasco I sky+0 -
Hi, just a late quickie.
kyle and Twink Glad that everything went well, what a worrying day for you all.
JackieO Hope today was a formality and a double check and that everything is ok.
We all seem to be tired today and in need of a lie-in so make sure you all have one in the morning!0 -

See I am still lurking! Just keeping up with the latest so again sorry to the others! Not giving you the cold shoulder honest. Haven't read the back-log but have a good trip EG! Haven't been there but believe lovely but rather expensive.
By the way DH says D&P excellent Part 2 tonight - will say no more! Heading for bed now as who knows when the blooming phone will ring. As not on the first in line call over for DGSs will sleep like a baby I hope. However, when DGS was on the way we got a 5.45 am call to say things were happening big time. I am just being such a woose Mum as I know how tired she is and what is in front of her again! Also DD was rather ill following DGS2 birth - went into shock and was monitered for 2 days post labour in hospital and rather worrying. DGS2 was OK but the breast feeding was hit or miss to start with because she was so poorly.
A woose GB! xxx0
