Good morning chums ,well the day has come that I have been dreading .I had a mammogram a fortnight ago and it seems they wern't happy with it, and so I am off this afternoon with eldest DD for a second stage one at the Hospital. Fingers crossed that it's just a glitch on their machine . I have been very positive as if there is something wrong then the sooner it's fixed the better .
My eldest Grandson who has finished his GCSE's came round yesterday and painted my garden fence and she and it looks really good .he doesn't start college until mid September and hass been phoning around everywhere trying to get a part-time job for the summer. Him and hundreds of others though .He delivers over 700 leaflets once a month at the moment ,but only gets around £22 for that So I said I would find him things to do to earn some extra cash. He worked really hard yesterday bless him, and is going to come back one day next week and do some more painting for me .My garden is finished now and the patio looks reallly great .All I need now is some sunshine so I can sit out and enjoy it all. I am free of the builders now for a little while as well. So all is peace and light in JackieO Towers at the moment .Get this afternoon over, and I will feel better though. it's not knowing what may be wrong thats worrying . Still what will be will be I suppose .Hope everyone has a good week-end and <<<hugs >>> to those in need and a big smile for the rest of you
Cheers JackieO0 -
Morning all
Hugs to Kyle - hope everything goes well today.
What a miserable start to the day - although at least it's not hot - I really am not very good at hot weather.
DD's went to youth club last night for the 1st time - they loved it - didn't finish until 9.30pm tho and DD2 is normally i bed by 8pm so she was shattered this morning. Was great to have 2 whole hours alone with DH tho
Need to run the hoover round this morning and clean out the parrot then I'm going to crack on and get some cards made up - my box is looking a bit empty and typically someone asked for some yesterday but there was nothing suitable.
Cottage pie tonight, will make that in a bit and make some muffins as I've got bananas on the turn, need to get a loaf going too.
Was going away for the weekend but DH now has to work, good job our friends are understanding, saves us around £70 as well as we were going out for the day with them + petrol. It all helps.
Hope you all have a great weekend."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Good morning all,
Jackie O- hope you get all clear today.
My girls have a sickness bug, eldest spent yesterday vomiting and sleeping, baby has decided sleeping is a bad idea and doesn't want to do it anymore. Spent yesterday walking round with her attached to my hip! Apparently there's a bug doing the rounds, but it doesn't last long. Both girls let themselves fall asleep for an hour yesterday- I cleaned the cooker! Should have tidied the house but needed to do one job that would stay clean. Now just have to catch up on the all the bedlinen that now needs to be changed, and the general mess that a 2 year can create when you're trying to look after her sister. . Both in front of TV for moment, I love CBeebies.:heart2: :heart2: :heart2:
Tuesday did mince in slow cooker for spag bol, Weds turned it into lasange and last night ate the left overs (only Dh eating). Very proud of stretching it, now just have to introduce variety into diet! Sausage casserole for tea tonight.

Good morning everyone!
WooHoo! Washburn is lying on the bed upstairs! It's taken weeks to get him there, we're so pleased. Yesterday afternoon he walked into the bedroom on his own, had a look out of the window, washed himself, and then went out again. This was the first time he'd come into the room without being carried or shepherded. This morning I went and got him, put him on the bed while we had our cups of tea. To my delight, he stayed there after we had got up, showered, dressed, made bed, and come downstairs. He's been up there on his own for about an hour now.
Plans for today: DH is redoing the tomato hydoponics in the greenhouse, then if it stops raining we're going to collect our final trellis panel for the new seating area.
Another trip to the tip is on the cards as I pruned our enormous bay tree yesterday, and the trailer is now full to bursting. I took out some really big centre branches, had to use the chainsaw (first time for me).
Have a parcel to send back to Bravissimo, and want to take my library books back. I tried yesterday, but our library is closed on Thursdays.
No gym today as I've done my three sessions this week.
Kitchen needs a surface tidy, so i'll do that shortly. WM on, but it looks too grey to line dry it. Will put DW on as soon as WM fiinished (can't have both on together, water pressure not good enough).
Dinner tonight is turbot in a lemon butter sauce.
Catowen have you checked and cleaned all the filters in your DW?
<<<Kyle>>>Good luck today. Hugs to Twink too.
N9eav enjoy your day off - even if it is a bit soggy
Amie How was Goodwood?
Pink COngratulations on booking your holiday! You'll have a wonderful time...and don't worry, DD isn't being left on her own, she's with your dad.
<JackieO> Fingers crossed for you.
Have a great day everyone xxxx

Morning :hello:
Kyle and son - hope all goes well at the hospital. Same to you JackieO ((hugs)).
scuzz, I hope you don't mind me being blunt and I honestly mean this in the nicest possible way but STOP BEING A DOORMAT. You seem to be letting everybody take you for granted and treat you like dirt. You are worth more than that and it's about time you did something about it.
I am now certain my neighbour is on holiday as he hasn't emptied his postbox since I left him the note about the loud music - which, surprise surprise, came on again this morning at the usual time and volume  I hope he's back this weekend rather than next
Got a cheapie standing ticket for the opera this evening, but it's not a very long show so I can be early to bed and early to rise (and out of the flat by the time my neighbour's stereo starts up!)
Anyway I'm glad it's almost the weekend :j

Morning everyone :hello:
It's a thoroughly wet and miserable morning here in Oxfordshire  Woke up late this morning, with a horrible realisation that DD's clothes were still wet in the TD, manged (just) to get them dry and ironed before leaving, and managed a bath, hairwash, and making packed lunches and getting to school and work on timeBut I feel all unsettled now, can't wait till hometime
(((((hugs))))) to Kyle and Twink - I miss your posts
Scuzz - I second what Bargain Rzl says - you need to put yourself first - take care
JackieO - possie vibes being sent your way - I do hope you get good news
Catowen - good luck in finding your mysterious smell
Have a lovely holiday Pinkwinged - glad your hubbie talked you into it
Not much planned for this weekend, although a trip to the library will be involved as all our books are due back tomorrow.
I know I've been saying this all week, but dinner really is ranchero pie tonight - I remembered to get the pork mince out of the freezer this morning :rotfl:
Have a great day everyoneSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Morning folks,
Hugs to Kyle, LO and JackieO plus anyone else I missed that needs one.
Didn't sleep well again due to tummy probs which is getting to be a boring habit. So want a good nights sleep! PsychoKitty woke around 5 and wanted to comfort-suckle. Hoping to break him of the habit as I have little love-bites around my neck! Went back to sleep but woke with a start at 8:15 - looked out of window to find the stonemason is back to replace the broken stone. Trouble is, each time he removes one fractured piece of stone another chunk appears to be fractured down the middle too, so we might end up with a completely new front of the house at this rate! He did worry me a bit by saying "I'm going to put 2 new bricks in there, before taking that one out, so I can make sure the ones above don't move".....
No real plans except a Mr T shop and a major tidy-up. Oh would like to find the mouse that Bailey-cat brought in the other night. It moved from under the fridge, across the kitchen to where the carrier bags are stored in that awkward corner by the washing machine. I moved a bag, so it ran back towards the fridge, but ended up under the stairs instead. Of course, instead of a stair cupboard we have a fixed trellis to keep the area non-damp (these old houses with stone floors are lovely for damp). So it's well out of reach. Did make a little trail of chocolate for it to follow out of the house, a little funnel track for it to go down, and left the door open from 8pm - midnight, but I don't think it got the message. Will have to put Echo-cat near there later and see if she thinks it's still there.
Hope all have a good day.0 -
Hello there
Well this may be in the wrong place but i have just received 2 measures for washpowder/liquid...sent for off of the freebie board :T ..and they are like mini jugs - in a rather nice shade of turquoise...and on having a look they measure upto 160 ml... so i figure they would be great for all of us baking and cooking from scratch, as my jug is a big old beastie and getting small amounts accurately measured is a pain.... so my newbie mini jug is now going to be used for baking... just thought others might be able to use this idea-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
