Yarp, she's something of a poppet and it's quite charming to have a creature that's so darned pleased to see you every time she claps eyes on you!
I shall have to work out what the magic is and try to use it on Mr. Hbbb ~ I just hope it doesn't turn out to be that I am the holder of the meal worms! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

And so to the end of the week!MFW actions:
* NSD (but only by the skin of my teeth).
* Seamus's pet insurance renewal came through so I shopped around and then phoned them. Long story short, told them I was going elsewhere, managed to get a multi-pet discount (which they refused to give me last year), a discounted price for Seamus's policy and £15 worth of points for my clubcard (which if I'm savvy at some point might work out to be worth £45, which is more than I'd have got in cashback via other sites). Pretty happy with that (no spend incurred as it'll change on the next direct debit).
No MOPs today as waiting for some client payments but hopefully will be able to make one over the weekend and sort out the odd bit whilst I'm there.
SMASH day 48 / 100 = £ 2,283 / £ 3,000Grey Clouds:
Edited to remove my original grey cloud because it seems trite and thoughtless now that I've heard about the Malaysian plane. To think about myself and not them at this point seems hugely disrespectful, very sad about the whole situationSilver lining:
Lately I've been showing Mr. Hbbb my spreadsheets (no, you lot, it's not the worst kind of euphemism) and the letters from mortgage peeps about the drop down and mortgage yadda yadda, to the point where I thought he was really starting to glaze over. As it was he came home today with a surprise gift for moi ~ Mrs. MoneyPenny's Financial Advice For Independent Women.
I think this means either:
a) I have bored him rigid and as a result I'm about to become an independent woman, or
b) He's pleased and grateful for the ongoing work in hand.
Seeing as he's fallen foul of two SLT bods this week, including a full on argument with one, in stands which put kids rather than politics first, I'm going with (b).Daily Declutter:
Sorted my hens and hounds folder out whilst seeing to insurance renewal and dumped whole lot of old paperwork, which I shall count as one. Total = 236 / 365.Simple Pleasures:
My cheeky visitor whilst I was working. Oooh, speaking of which ...
 Simply mayhem:
One of the students was feeling a bit grot this morning, tired, sore throat etc so I did the diligent mum thing and made a fuss of him, gave him lozenges and sent him to school so his leader could assess the situation.
FF to noon-tide, I took mash up to girls, came back in through back door and felt something crawling down my back inside my clothes! Well, after the over-reaction of face to mozzie bite of last week I had stripped my whole kit off within 20 seconds in order to reduce chances of being eaten alive, only to hear sound of key in front door ... student had been allowed to come home for a nap!
So, in the time it took him to come through front door, shout his greeting and wander through to the kitchen, I was redressed although disheveled, but happily he's used to my hen house look so all I had to say was "hen house" and he thought everything was normal (and I guess it is in the Brian Rix farce land I seem to have wandered into lately)!
Am wondering if I can request a place in Guinness Book of Madness for fastest strip down, replacement of clothes and banishment of what turned out to be a storm ant ~ in all of 45 seconds!
Hope you're all having a relaxed Friday evening! x

Morning Habibiboo,
Your story made me roar with laughter - I can just imagine how you must have felt.
Thank goodness you managed to get your clothes on, the student would have wondered what type of establishment it really was :rotfl:
Complete agree regarding the plane - tragic.
Have a great weekend, try and keep you clothes on

Hi all ... Yes, not my most shining hour but thankfully I was wearing a quick on / off dress! Comes to something when you can't whip it all off in the sanctuary of your own home though! Will add this to my cons list for having students for when we weigh up success of mission in hand!
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Funny old day weather wise, storms now just back with a bit on a vengeance but thankfully we were able to make the most of the good weather moments today!MFW actions:
Can't claim a no spend as changed students' bedding. Took off good sheets from mattresses and went to put older sheets on and realised they are really past it. So little trip to D'hams for sale and managed to get two new good quality cotton ones for total of £14, which is investment for future students too really ... I can't depend on the weather to get my existing pair of good sheets washed and back on the beds in the same day and as the changeovers happen quite quick, it makes sense to have another pair. So, definitely a need not want spend, especially as ...
Popped into another student school whilst in town and got info about going on their books. They run trips to our town across 9 months of the year and pay £3 a night more than the one we're with so they gave us all the info and asked me to phone the accommodation lady next week, so looks promising there! This also partly promoted final decision about spend on sheets as will definitely need more than one set if we'll be having sts through dreary autumn months and no tumble drier now!
Will have a money shuffle half hour tomorrow after sts go to school so SMASH still same today, day 49 / 100 = £2,283 / £3,000Grey Clouds:
Just very tired, up since 3.30 am due to storms, scared dog and nightmares, by time all settled it was time for hens' breakfast so I just stayed up and got on with stuff. So ..Silver lining:
Mr. Hbbb has offered to be Mother Hen to both sts and chooks tonight and I am just about to bed down for an early one!Daily declutter:
Dress I don't wear passed on to friend who likes it, parcel of surprise happy things posted to son = 238 / 365.Simple pleasures:
* Getting morning chores out of way then gentle mooching with Mr Hbbb for his sister's birthday present.
* Not working today.
* Sts on excursion today so not in for dinner, so made quiche and potato salad and took dogs out for romp and had our dinner as a picnic at local beauty spot, watching the storm roll in! Left as it started to rain, so had just the right moment!
Hope everyone is alright, hugs as needed xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

When I was in Canterbury yesterday, I saw a few groups of language students, with their green t-shirts or yellow bags, and it reminded me of you. It must be a fantastic experience for the young people to spend time overseas. I hope their host families are as welcoming as you.
I had to laugh at the Brian Rix farce/1970's sitcom shenanigans. Whatever, you do, DON'T invite the vicar round for tea, as there will almost certainly be some innuendo-laden misunderstanding!Early retired - 18th December 2014
