Right, just finally stopped for the day so quick catch up before bed!MFW actions: NSD & lots of work!
Lots of work in to various clients and Thursday looks like being a day for most payments to come in this week. It's also student pay day so will hope to update SMASH then, so no change today: SMASH day 44 / 100 = £ 2,060 / £ 3,000Grey Cloud:
Yup, still whinging about my poor face, now big purple swelling, even Mr. Hbbb now showing moderate concern!Silver Linings:
Hens had their best happy day together so far today, lairy pair even let the trio onto the dirt garden in their area to enjoy a spot of dust bathing!Daily Declutter:
All work today, nothing left the house apart from usual recycling wheelie for tomorrow's pick up, so can't really count that! Total still 235 / 365.Simple pleasures:
* Sparrows in nest boxes have had another successful hatching today, so nests are chirping again!
* Very pleasant dinner time with students.
* Lovely dog walk down park this evening, quite stormy but very pleasant.
* Mr Hbbb wants to go for an early run in the morning so he's offered to do chicken duty at dawn, so cheeky lie in until 7 for me tomorrow :T
Hope everyone else is good ... another Monday over!

Evening, have you tried an antihistamine for the swelling? The pharmacy recommended them to me for horsefly bites and I think it helped.
You sound in the wars
Glad to hear the students are working out well.

Yes, the Avon stuff was to stop anything biting in the first place & it did appear to work. I already use Johnson's baby oil as a moisturiser, so with the Avon stuff on top of that my skin was probably like an oil-slick & the bugs that tried to land on me just slid off!! :rotfl:
Hope the bite on your face has settled down a bit overnight.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

Thanks Tilly, yes, I feel a bit on the wrong side of ticketyboo, that is to say more boo than tickety! Perhaps I need another dose of tonic to perk me up :rotfl:
I used antihistamine cream until the bite burst, but can't really take tabs as they just send me to sleep and I have too much work to do. Am taking a cheeky day off on Friday though, so may take one Thursday eve if it's still as itchy!
Ta for good wishes xapple_muncher wrote: »Hope you got your lie-in this morning...

That'll be a no, A*M, Mr. Hbbb slept through the alarm although he did catch up with me and take over but I was awake by then. Did grab another hour but up again by 6.30 as students needed early call for trip. Will try again tomorrow as he says he's definitely going to be up early tomorrow!pink_poppy wrote: »Yes, the Avon stuff was to stop anything biting in the first place & it did appear to work. Yes, it's pretty oily that stuff ... trouble is I have so many open bites now I darent spray it as it'll probably sting like anything. So consequently I'm picking up bites every time we go out ... two more on legs when we took dogs to park yesterday evening.
Thanks for kind wishes for face, same here, hair must make your forehead itch even more ... at least I've been able to wear my hair up so it's not brushing my cheek. Hope you're mended soon. xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Hope everyone's OK! Whistle-stop update as chicken lullaby and my own bed are calling ...MFW actions:
* NSD
* Landed some work from new client which I've squished in for end of week to help with the old MOP malarkey.
* Got a pay "slip" from student co. so will definitely be getting money without hassle on Thursday!
SMASH day 45 / 100 = £ 2,060 / £ 3,000.Grey clouds:
Bit tired, that's all, same as everyone else heading for hump day!Silver lining:
Splinter is now out of hand!Daily declutter:
Nowt out, must do better but I think that's what the weekend will be for!Simple pleasures:
* Planning a cheeky day off on Friday if I can clear current deadlines by then. I fully intend to just "be" and mooch around, no work, no chores, no pressure (well until they all come home for their dinner)!
* Swollen cheek / eye socket means my glasses are sitting perfectly on my face for a change (usually squiffy since I broke my nose)!
:cool: Simply rude:
Me to Mr. Hbbb: You look nice in that shirt, that shade brings out the colour of your eyes (shirt is cornflower blue-ish)
Mr. Hbbb to me: Why thank you! You look nice in that top today, it brings out the colour of your face (top is purple)!
Hmmph. Hugs to those who need them, gonna get mine from a chicken at bedtime! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

I shouldn't laugh but :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Ouch to the bitesI once ended up in A&E on a Sunday evening after a particularly nasty insect bite on my ankle resulted in cellulitis so I hope your wounds don't become infected

Don't worry MWC, we laughed too (Mr Hbbb more than me obviously)!
Cellulitis is nasty, hope you're over all that now!
I didn't realise one of your girls is also a Gladys ... are yours named after family females too? My Aunty Glad was a terror ... and so is this little one, she's taken to jumping up and landing on my wrist when I bring the mash plate down to them ... she thinks she's a falcon!
Hope you've caught up on your washing xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

So, felt awful for most of the day but perked up after dinner so got stuck into the work that I'd just been shuffling about with all day and now it's almost time for bed!MFW actions:
* NSD
* Some monies in so £100 MOP made with a little account shuffling this evening.
SMASH day 46 / 100 = £ 2,160 / £ 3,000Grey Cloud:
Worked all day but pretty unproductively, so I've missed out on an evening to myself (students and Mr. Hbbb all out).Silver lining:
Still, got the work done eventually so will be better placed to crack on tomorrow.Daily Declutter:
Nope.Simple pleasures:
* My face is going down!
* 2 of the new girlies put themselves in the coop tonight, without me having to find them and place them in. Still had to find Dora though, she always makes herself a little bed somewhere else!
:eek: Simply strange:
I swear Bessie started crowing twice today ... what's that all about? MWC? Anyone?
Hope everyone's OK now that hump day is over!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

I have to admit to bursting out laughing at the crowing chicken. Because some animals do undergo a sex change if put under too much stress or in too much of a one sex environment. I'm talking fish though not chickens, but who knows. I hope MWC et al have the answer for you!0
