Do you use Quidco? If so try looking on there before you take out a new pet insurance policy, we've got quite a bit of cashback from pet insurance via. them for the past few years. Our last policy got us £60, previous £80, previous £35. One time the cashback paid for the full policy and more!
Beckyy, thank you so much for this timely reminder ~ it's great to have you gently nudging me because I always forget about the cashback sites (even though I do belong to Quicdco).
I aim to have a work-free evening tomorrow and will make Quidco my first stop, to see if I can better the quotes I have as well as make a little bit back, before I start a-haggling with Mr. T!

Hi JanineH
Well, with Beckyy's gentle reminder still in my mind I've now got the excellent and cunning plan of waiting until the car insurance is due for renewal (for OH) then going through QCo to get quotes for a joint policy for us both - in the hope of making back enough to off-set me being added on! It's all good!
I agree about the weather, hope you got one in today before it all blew up again! We got out but all covered in mud, which my pair seemed to enjoy far more than I do!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Glad you agree MWC, I see you as something of an eggs-pert when it comes to all things hens!
Mealworms are dried and stinky! I want to feed my little girl up a bit as she hasn't laid since the autumn but I've had two softies since the weekend so I suspect she may be getting ready to earn her keep again! We had another secret moment today too ~ she's learning the routine!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

 Another storm brewing (bucket crashing into window as I "speak") ~ I hope everyone's OK!Today's MFW actions: Little haggle with door man, who has promised a more competitive quote now than when I first spoke to him; teeny tiny Tilly tidy.
Today's [STRIKE]grey cloud[/STRIKE] spooky moment: Working away at my desk just as the hands of the clock were heading towards noon. I had the sense of something sneaking up behind me so I turned to see my two [STRIKE]faithful[/STRIKE] hopeful hounds standing behind me, tails wagging with a slow synchronicity which was extremely unnerving, seriously, they were doing a doggy version of the creepy twins in The Shining. I could just tell they were thinking "come and play with us, forever!" So what could I do ... we had our walk slightly earlier than usual because I just couldn't concentrate knowing they were just standing behind me ... staring!
Today's silver lining: one of the door men showed up - it's always a plus in my book when a tradesman actually comes at the appointed hour!
Daily Declutter: now that the recycling bin's empty I sorted all the papers OH has left around the living room. Large pages now taken up to hen house, smaller ones into recycling bin for next time! Total = 14 / 365
Today's simple pleasures: appreciating the gestures of friendship and support on here, good to know we're all sharing the same big adventure!

Hope you're all safe, warm and dry! Come and park yourself by the fire (but take those muddy boots off first) ....!Today's MFW actions: NSD and Mr. Hbbb's dressing table kill into sealed pot!
Today's grey cloud: Another piece of the Mimosa gone (absolutely nothing we can save from it now, OH will have to get chain saw out at the weekend - weather permitting of course); another fence panel bites the dust and in its fall has broken my chicken bucket (thankfully overnight and not when the girls were clucking about)! *Big sigh*
Today's silver lining: New client from last month has resurfaced with more work for me. This is always exciting because you can't always be sure they're going to come back to you, so v. pleased about this. Will try to charge him enough to treat myself ... to a new bucket!
Daily Declutter: Another Ebay parcel has left the building! Total = 15 / 365

 Another wet one! Will it ever stop?
:rotfl: "bucket" and "treat" JanineH, yes, I see what you mean! What can I say, do you think I might be taking this whole MF thing to an unhealthy level?Today's MFW action: small Tilly Tidy, did a few more CDs ready for M*M but still haven't received payments for the two lots I sent last month, so not holding my breath for paying off the mortgage anytime soon with their cash!
Today's grey cloud: we're now losing tiles from the roof ~ I spotted at least two gaps when I went up the hen house (I always look up at the roof of the house on my way back down the path, don't know why, it's a practice that's had me tripping head-first into the herbs before now)! Anyhoo, horrified! Have now added trip up into loft to check for leaks to Mr. Hbbb's to do list for weekend!
Today's silver lining: £5 Love2Shop voucher from RM survey ~ have added to Christmas coffers, cha-ching!
Daily Declutter: instead of lighting the fire with newspapers, I used a pile of papers waiting to be shredded in workroom instead! One pile less junk in there is always progress! 16 / 365
Today's simple pleasures: storecupboard dinner of spicy squash soup, very MSE, very warming, followed by mango and orange ~ a very orange coloured meal, in fact!
Hope everyone's OK!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Strange thing happened today, the skies were blue so we all tottered outside blinking and uncertain beneath the glow of a big yellow globe in the sky ...
... then ran back in cos it was bally freezing and I didn't have me vest on!Today's MFW actions: banking and work "books", 37p Tilly Tidy. Trying to keep to my budget strictly for next 2 weeks and then make MOP and hopefully another at end of month.
Today's grey cloud: look away now if you're of a delicate disposition ...
dead rat in the woodpile
Thankfully eerily intact but horrible, horrible, horrible!Today's silver lining: in order of priority ~
1) It didn't rain
2) Just the one rat
3) Mr. Hbbb brought cake and wine on the way home from work! If I'm really good, he'll share them with me (tho I think I might have blown that by making him be the one to deal with t'rat)!Daily declutter: 4 parcels off to Ebay peeps! 20/365

We won't mention the weather rep for this weekendand hope (as per) they have got it wrong.
Eww to the rat  - we get them too though :(and mice with having so many fields around, not a lot to be done though - virtually everyone along our little row of houses has dogs - hence no one dare put any killer down in case the rats/mice move it/die and the dogs decide to put their chops round it
