  • Hi Habibiboo, just wanted to pop in a say

Just finished reading your diary, loving the way you list things and the purple writing (my favourite colour).

We have used MMpie a few times before, they seem to take forever to get the cheque sent out, tempted to use another payment method next time to see if that is quicker.

Might steal your fakeaway idea for Sunday, really need to cut back on food spending and eating out. Havent made a HM pizza for ages, have all the ingredients here already and my DS loves putting the toppings on. x

Tilly: ta for good wishes, food turned out well and BIL and I partnered up against my sis and my OH (who are both incredibly competitive so they are best paired together) to play crib ... BIL and I managed to win so excellent evening all round (no sibling rivalry there at all)! :p

SG: Harvester idea is a good one and your total spend's very impressive, hope it all turned out well!

WM: thanks for visiting! Ahh, homemade pizza! That's where I really miss my boys, who are now grown up and gone, the fun we used to have sorting toppings and 'inventing' new pizza types! Hope you had a great evening!

Had loads of curry left so will do for Mr. Hbbb and I today and probably tomorrow too, so it was even better value than anticipated!

So, today ... what a wet one!

;)Today's MFW action: small Tilly tidy and new budget for new month (based on the 28 Days Later challenge) and personal aim to make at least £350 MOP in Feb.

:(Today's grey cloud: last night's storms here have finally killed our mimosa tree - last big branches were ripped off in the night, just huge 12ft bare limb left. It was just coming into flower too ... absolutely gutted.

:)Today's silver lining: £183 tax rebate appeared in my bank account! Am guessing they finally received my tax return then! It was actually £333 odd but have deducted the £150 'fee' I lost to scammers so that I feel less stupid about that and so that I'm realistic as to what actually is extra money!

:DToday's simple pleasures: have started to do monthly coffee morning with committee of friends, each time at one of our houses to avoid expense. Had lovely time and great catch up - we all used to work together but now are all in different places except for 2 of them! My turn to host next month!

:pDaily Declutter: took pile of old but readable magazines to pass on to friends! I don't really buy magazines, these had all been passed to me when I was I'll, so good to pay it forwards! New total = 9 / 365.

Hope everyone's keeping safe from storms! Hugs if you need them!

Awful isn't it :( we have many woods near us, one in particular has a fabulously beautiful huge oak tree,- it was one of the casualties a few weeks ago in the high winds, almost split in half :(

Well done on the rebate as well :T

Hi JanineH, yes, still v.upset about mimosa, it's looking v.sad and is almost certainly beyond any kind of rescue. More trees down in little park near us too. TY for tax rebate wishes, mightily relieved to receive that!

    So, today ...

;)Today's MFW action: little chat with Mr Hbbb about his end of things and this year's target. Discussed how to pay for door without incurring interest & have sorted out a possible way: I'll continue keeping us frugal and making the MOPs, we'll put the door costs on 0% Mr T card and Mr Hbbb will make the payments for it (or top up the MOPs so that I can pay it - we'll get lots of club card points towards next Xmas food shop too that way!

:(Today's grey cloud: mainly working today as have a hospital appointment tomorrow and work deadlines so having to spend today getting ahead as can never rely on hospital clinics running on time!

:)Today's silver lining: quick visit from my youngest son who has landed a permanent job at last instead of having to make do with seasonal positions! Big smiles all around!

:DToday's simple pleasures: nice hot bubble bath to round off the day!

:pDaily declutter: 3 parcels packaged up from Fleabay sales, ready to drop at PO on way to hospital tomorrow! Total 12 / 365

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend! X

It didn't rain today, amazing, although the wind's starting to get up now ...!

;)Today's MFW action: Spendy day unfortunately as had to get a taxi to hospital. Walked the 3 miles home though as there was less time pressure on way back and no rain!

Pet insurance renewal paperwork for one of the pooches was on doormat when I got back (had to come in via back door again tho) so I've started checking around rather than automatically renewing. Have found a couple of cheaper quotes so now just need to phone current insurer to see if they'll make it worth my while to stay with them!

:(Today's grey cloud: Hospital scales have me 2kg heavier than home ones. Madness!

:)Today's silver lining: Neurologist says he's happy for me to start driving again if I want although it's likely I'll have to remain on medication forever! Just got to get my confidence up to get back behind the wheel then (ooh and get myself back on the insurance although that will cost a little). Think I'll wait till the summer as OH takes the car to work anyway so it's not like I can use it!

:pDaily declutter: I've got a box of old dividers and envelope-type folders I've had repeatedly on Freecycle for ages but no-one seems to want them so I finally put them into the recycling today for pickup tomorrow = 13/365 items.

:DToday's simple pleasures: h/m soup for tea; no rain; secret rendezvous with chicken who's at the bottom of the pecking order to let her have some sneaky meal-worms. OH says this is interfering with the natural order of things but, hey, everyone deserves a treat, right?

    Hope everyone's well!

Do you use Quidco? If so try looking on there before you take out a new pet insurance policy, we've got quite a bit of cashback from pet insurance via. them for the past few years. Our last policy got us £60, previous £80, previous £35. One time the cashback paid for the full policy and more!

Hopefully the weather is changing for the better - I've had 3 days on the trot walking the hounds in the dry - almost made me :j for joy today :D

Great news on the driving  , hopefully the ins won't be too awful when the time comes!
