I thought Alchemilla was referring to her children! Squawk....Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -

P*M, thanks for your visit and your lovely posts, great to have a catch up with you!"Yellow" dinner, the mind boggles!
 Oh no, rats at the burrow? We used to have mice in the garage and everyone said, ahh, at least if you have mice you know you don't have rats. And now? Hmmmm, time will tell.Nice to know we also have the Chaplin-esque personality traits in common. In truth, actually my sons always say it's like living with a Chuckle brother (I'm assuming they mean the clumsiness and it's not a subtle way of letting me know I have a facial hair problem)!

Another wet one, my goodness!Today's MFW actions: M*M finally paid me £35 for first lot of CDs so this has been popped into MOP, bringing total so far this month to £275. Oh, and a no spend day!
Today's grey cloud: Nowt really, very tired tho'!
Today's silver lining: Didn't get soaked up the hen house, all good!
Daily declutter: Went through Mr Hbbb's piles of newspapers in living room (you notice how this has become roughly a fortnightly or so chore as no-one else in the house seems to "see" them)! Half pile into recycling, other half up to henhouse to line coop and nest boxes and keep my girlies warm and dry! Total 24 / 365.
Today's simple pleasures: Daft doggies who love you regardless; meeting deadlines despite the universe conspiring to make it almost impossible; warm jumpers ~ in that order!
Hope everyone's OK! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

It's different for me every year. Two years ago I had lovely 7s, last year my 7s were dreadful, and this year I haven't got 7s at all, but 9s instead, and they're great. Two years ago my 10s were brilliant - top set, keen, clever, great fun to teach; last year I had a lower set of 10s, in what I think of as the "sweet but dim" category, and this year my 10s are bolshy and never ever shut up.

Sounds like we've had a similar couple of days!! Daft doggies who love you regardless and keep us sane, ensuring I leave my pit twice a day for walkies (otherwise known as home office!)
I met 3/4 deadlines which I'm considering a seriously good effort!
And hoorah to warm jumpers ( cardy in my case) :T

Hello Lois, butt ahead, it's lovely of you to stop by!
I know what you mean, every year group has a grot class and you can never take it for granted what a year group will be like. We were quite lucky with our feeder primaries, they'd always give us the early warning if a particularly grotty year group were on their way!
Great to meet you!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Ooops Alchemilla, I'm so sorry ... all I can say is I was very tired at the time of writing!
Also, my "small ones" are the ones in the hen house, my boys are all grown ups and are all well over 6 ft (I'm 5'2")! So you can see my confusion
Still you answered the question ... no layers then! :rotfl:Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Ahh, nothing like it when your pooches are your co-workers!

Excellent, some days deadlines are sooooo much harder to meet (and it's definitely the day, not the deadline itself)!

Wonder if they're waiting for the Spring? At least if they are your frugal finances will have you in the best place possible for making that deposit by the time the house comes back on!
