Selling your stuff on EBID. advice for new sellers

Hang onto your hats, I'm going to say something nice about ebid. I've just gone to change some prices (I am determined to sell something, anything, even at cost if necessary just to see if I can!) and 'revise your auction' did just that. It was brilliant, none of the three hundred and forty silly screens to go through when you try and do the same on ebay, just a simple one click and carry on with the listing.
Also, on the forum someone tried to bad mouth paypal, and all teh regular posters have countered with only positive comments about their experience of using it. Maybe the tide is turning. Now all I need to do is actually sell something.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi Soolin, there's plenty of life left in the old dog named 'eBid'. In fact, it's still really a pup, so there's hope for us all, yet. Look at me - 10 years on and I've now managed to accrue enough buddy points to have won 2 superb items (and a load of free merchandise). Perhaps the current SEO work will result in a marked improvement in search results on Google, but it's also trying to get the word out when many die-hard fans of eBay will go straight there, best price or not. I'm seeing stuff on there making £15-£20 that I'd sell from home for £6, so we're past the stage of the multitudes of buyers over there being bargain hunters; they're still just buyers who don't know about eBid or who can't find what they're looking for at the time.
What do you think of the new eBid site design and colour scheme?I reserve the right not to spend.

I like the new designs and layout, however I haven't had a single person even view any of my aucitions, so it looks like nothing has changed with ebid and the lack of buyers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Soolin, apologies if this has been asked a million times before, but when you're selling on eBay, do you include a compliments slip or card of any description informing buyers that you also list on eBid? Also, do you post in the 'plug your auctions' thread on eBid when you make any changes to your listings? I tend to stick a plug post on and update my signature. There's always the chance someone knows someone who may know someone who is looking for what you're selling.
Mind you, I still don't know anyone who earns their entire living from eBid, I'm dying to hear from someone who does.

Just had a couple of Ebid sales in succession. Considering I just stuck a few hundred items on with frankly awful photos ages ago, and do sod all to promote or market them, I think my sales on the site (spotty but regular) are quite reasonable. If I had more time free I'd put more effort in, especially as I earnt my Seller+ £50 back a long time ago and it's all gravy i.e. pure profit now.0

Another Ebid sale, that's nice. Stress-free, too.0

I do like how often Ebid buyers offer to pay by postal order. More for me, nothing for PayPal!0

I think that demonstrates the difference between ebay and ebid. On ebay sales are normal, on ebid they seem to need a special mention even on the ebid boards.
It's been a couple of weeks now and I have had one page view, that isn't one page view per item, that is one page view in total. So, as someone else said on a different fourm, if i stuck my item up on the window ledge and the postman called, that is one more person that has seen my item that has bothered to look at it in three weeks on ebid.
I'm persevering though, it's becoming a grudge match now, I WILL at least get someone to look at one of my auctions if not even buy something.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Oh, I wouldn't bother if you have that much trouble. I just leave things there and they sell themselves on Ebid, not in great number but certainly with great ease and no stress. No effort involved.
What a mystery: you haven't sold a single thing as you've frequently said, yet I never have a month without a sale, and without taking any great trouble about it.0 -
