On ebay I know I have just sold a set of very old books to a dealer who breaks them up for their illustrations and resells them. He buys and sells on the same account, apart from refusing him a discount (he asked about an off ebay deal for a huge discount) I was actually happy to let them go as I couldn't bear to break a book like that and wouldn't know how to start sorting out framing and such like anyway.

My ebid thread (I didn't join in though) was at least 18 months ago, possibly even 2 years and I think it was in the kitchen table section)

My research has paid off, despite both my most recent listings attracting bids within a day of going live. I did a search on Google, Yahoo & AOL and my items were showing up in page 1 of Google & AOL within a day but only my blogsite page showed up on Yahoo. Could just be coincidence and luck but it does suggest regular spidering by the search engines. A quick search of 'online auctions' on Google brought up eBid in number 2 position this week, so maybe things are starting to look up a little. :)

It's nice to know Ebayers are not a happy bunch. Read the following article for info.

Same here, but haven't there always been disgruntled eBayers? They're only unhappy when they aren't making money. Besides, there are disgruntled eBidders, MSEers and everything elsers, as far as I am aware, can't keep all of the people happy all of the time.

:D <- This is not the face of a disgruntled person, I am very happy with my most recent sale and wish I had several more like it.

Does anyone notice a marked increase in sales around pay day at the end of the month? I was wondering if people waited for bills going out then blow any surplus at the start of the month. We seem to be seeing quite a trend in this direction, especially in the book & memorabilia store. Makes sense to me to list in time for the last Thursday of the month and run for a week with a BIN price included. :)

Another sale this week and I also just won a fantastic Buddy point auction for an ebook reader! What a BARGAIN! Happy.gif However, I also did a single listing on eBay and sold it at 4 times what I'd have got for it on eBid, so the buyers still aren't including eBid in their searches, or else the eBid items aren't showing up as options in their search results. Hmm, that's assuming they even search - I reckon many just go straight to eBat and assume they'll get the best price. I know at least one of my items is cheaper on eBid than anywhere else you could buy same but it doesn't stop folks paying £10 more at times.

The latest eBid newsletter has arrived saying to watch out for something exciting on 25th April - anyone got any ideas? It also says that site engine optimisation is being worked on to gain better Google (and others) results, so we can but hope. This ardent, diehard fan on the site won't be moving, that's for sure. I'll sit it out another 10 years if I have to. :D

Edited in - OOPS! Inadvertently gave you the answer to this month's eBid competiton! :rotfl::rotfl: Don't blame me if you win a T shirt or something.
