the unrest in sellers at ebay is more now that ever before..IMO

I for sure have never known the revolt of sellers in so many categories to be so strong.....

If the issues continue to (looking at financial reports) impact on ebay profit margin and the share holders, ebay will try and change course for sure........but she is a BIG old complex ship now.... can they act in time?

About every 3 weeks we get reports of sellers abandoning ebay in droves, ebay on its last legs , 'ebay goes too far'. Strangely enough ebay just keep going, the sellers who run serious businesses and understand the market still use ebay successfully, often in conjunction with their own stand alone sites and we just wait for the next 'ebay is dying' headline.

I'd love to see your evidence. I've heard this every 2 weeks for the past 10 years. Still no revolt
  • Just look at the ebay forums, Business Sellers and Power Sellers. We are not a happy bunch of campers at the moment are we..... The amount of direct complaints regarding the flawed DSR / TSR policy has gone through the roof and is more than at any other time I have seen on ebay.... Ive been there 7 years as a seller.

    Thats my evidence.

I've been selling for 10 years now and don't recall sellers ever saying they are happy. It's odd that they claim to be leaving yet are still addicted enough to be signing in all the time to post on the boards.

That's not evidence really (just hearsay) For the 10 years i've been selling the PS board has always had about the same amount of whinging. If you think how many people actually post on the PS board and how many PS there actually are the complaints on these boards are going to be less than 1% of the actual powersellers. There's always been complaints there always will

The majority of us don't agree with everything paypal and ebay do but realise that our time is better off running our business's and using ebay to the best of our ability.

I need to disagree on the 'no sales of books' on eBid, Soolin, sorry. As you already know, we run a bookstore on there and sold well over £500 worth of books last month, all on eBid. (If you'd like to see for yourself, PM me and I'll let you know the username). The trouble is that not all our customers leave feedback, as they're using the place like a regular online store. On my personal 'bits and pieces' account, I've sold a couple of items recently, but haven't been pushing the sales as I haven't had the time. And the 'buddy auctions' are back, so I can spend my loyalty points. :D (Just got outbid on the laptop but partner, who runs the bookstore won a camera. Then sold it on eBid this week. :rotfl:)
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

  • I've just bought something off ebid, but the seller doesn't know how to send me an invoice so i can pay. Can I just send payment through paypal to their email address, quoting ebid transaction number and be covered that way?
    Thanks

You might as well as you don't have quite the coverage with paypal on ebid as you do on ebay anyway, so it won't make much difference to pay them direct.

Just bumping as I mentioned the site on another board.

I'd also point out that as per my prediction the discounted seller lifetime plus ofer is still on if anyone is still considering it.
