  • I am still listing on Ebid too.

I only put my more expensive books on there though - I can't justify the listing time to list penny books when it is so simple to list on Amazon

Not had a sniff of a sale in months though - seems to have gone very quiet

I'm still on eBid too but struggling. I did get a sale last week but that was first in months. I'm also still on ebay and had 5 sales this last week, when I package up I have been putting in a slip of paper with the eBid loggo on it informing the buyer that I'm on eBid etc etc. I just thought this may bring buyers over, time will tell. I sell records mainly but have listed clothes and make up items, some items just have never been looked at on eBid but I'm going to carry on and hope the tide will turn.

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

The stuff I have moved back to ebay has started to sell and I have bids on other bits. In fact I got my first sale on a bIN within hours of listing on ebay yet it had been cheaper on ebid for around 5 weeks.

I'm going to move the rest across to ebay as soon as I get time and leave ebid for the duplicate stuff only and stuff I just want to 'store' as I don't want to list too much on ebay at once and push my prices down. Incidentally the stuff sold has not been books, so it isn't just books on ebid that don't sell.

Haven't listed on eBay in a long time, is it true that you now need to list inclusive of postage & packaging? I think part of the attraction to eBay can also be attributed to its affiliate policies - I buy from eBay but always go via a cash back site. I think I've accrued about £25 of 'free' money over the past year just by doung this, whereas with eBid, the best I've reached, so far, is about 60 buddy points. Which reminds me, I really should look at buying something with them as it could be an extra Chrissie pressie for someone. :)

nykmedia, there are several free p and p categories now including media. There is a sticky thread on this forum that gives some of the other changes as well.

I had thought that the free p and p on media might push buyers to ebid, but despite telling all my regulars for the past 2 months or so about my move to ebid I sold one item only.

Any word on how eBid sales are going since the site's revamp? I'm still finding my way around it. Not liking that I can't find anything to spend my buddy points on, though, and got fed up trying to find the free gifts hidden in the site when there doesn't seem to be any way of knowing IF they're even still hidden in there. :(

  • My sales have been non existant really :( - seemed to perk up a bit early last year but they have been totally dead since then.

Admitedly I only list some of my more expensive books, but I would have expected at least half of them to move on Ebay (can't be bothered with them now though!). Have got them listed on Amazon and other places too though and my book sales have been poor everywhere since the summer really.

I was hopeful of increased sales with the site revamp, but no luck so far.

I gave ebid everything i had for about 6 months, I listed, I relisted, I addded new stock I offered discounts and absolutely nothing sold.

The whole vibe of the place has gone, a lot of sellers I used to watch have disappeared and at least 2 of the bigger sellers I'd bought from previously have gone back to ebay. it just felt that I was the only seller still giving it a go. I gave up bothering again just after Christmas, if I can't sell good stock on there at below ebay prices in the run up to Christmas then it is never going to sell.

Thanks for response, Soolin. We're still giving it our all here but having to price accordingly as first bidder is normally the only bidder. The 'buy it now' option seems to works best for us and eBid is still the most cost effective selling platform from our point of view. But then I'm in with the bricks, so I would say that. :D

Since the site revamp, I've had sales nearly every day :j

Don't know what to make of it, as totally unexpected.
