Is there smiley for "that just went over the top?"I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

Ebay is so dead at the moment, I'm going to start listing new items on Ebid only. If stuff's not shifting there's no point paying listing fees for it. Might start moving my low value items over too and deleting them off the Bay. Fee to price ratio is too high.0

Could always try SpecialistAuctions.com -that's where the real collectors go to buy and sell- including me0 -
I know MSE used to get discussed on the ebid forums a lot, but now the ebid forums are much quieter and a lot of the regulars have gone I'm not sure anyone reads this thread.
However on the off chance they do then ebid have another upcoming opportunity to take a bit of the market if they are quick and can spend a few pounds actually advertising. From October 16th media items must have free (inclusive) postage on ebay. At th emoment there are a lot of private sellers selling off childrens books, magazines etc at 99p with a small amount for postage which will suddenly start to look uneconomical with the new changes.
Ebid could hit this lower end of the book/magazine/CD market very easily and if people know that ebid encourage these sellers then buyers might go and have a look.
I don't think it will hit the higher end of the book market as once th eprivate sellers selling at 99p have gone our book sales should actually do a lot better, but for the small private seller ebid would be ideal.
Ebid have not yet capitalised on any of the ebay changes so I doubt they will on this one, but personally I think this is an ideal opportunity for a different site to take a real bit of business.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just a heads up, ebid have had problems with their card authorisation company (not a bank) for over a year now so if buying lifetime memberships you really must have paypal as British cards cannot be used.
It doesn't seem to affect people who have already registered.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Gosh, I appear to be the only one on ebid now if you look at this thread recently which is a real turn up for the books :rotfl:
Anyway, firstly the newsletter from ebid today mentions the following stats:
Site News & Updates- 2,633,483 Live Auctions RECORD
- 9,700 Categories RECORD
- 9,474 eBid Stores Live RECORD
Forums are a bit doom and gloom, lots of people saying that sales appear to be poor this year, so I hope I don't have to wait 5 1/2 years for my next sale.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
