I like my challenges (see signature for evidence) and take part in several, both here and elsewhere. I'm part of an eBid challenge where we keep scores of buying and selling. If it helps anyone, the 'winner' of the September challenge had 127 points, where points are based on positive customer feedback, so that was 127 items that were bought & sold by our winner :) Who said eBid was slow? :D (I'm pretty rubbish at the challenge and only reached 7 this month but it gives me a little bit more of an incentive to try harder. :D)

I've got another ebid sale, hee hee hee.

got to get stuff listed, i've hardly got anything on there. i'm going to try the spreadsheet, export one item then list everything similar and upload. I won't bother with pics - just go back and add them as and when I've got time with gallery. Better to at least have stuff up there even without pics.

the item that sold, i never thought it would shift!

Just sold my sixth item on Ebid.net, in the space of about a month. It might not sound great, but I've got less than a quarter listed there compared to my ebay listings. So multiply it by 4 or 5 and... it's actually quite respectable compared to my Ebay sales.

I'm planning on sticking with Ebay over the seasonal period, taking them for any Christmas sales I can get, then at the end of January working out that, per hour put in, I've been making less than minimum wage... (Highly probable). Then I'll dump 'em, close the store and focus my attention on Ebid.net, Etsy, Amazon etc. Maybe ten Ebay auctions a month with a ton of flyers and fridge magnets for Ebid.net in each package. WTH, maybe a free Ebid mug as well.

Just registered with ebid and so far listed 3 dvds, but not able to do the buy it now option as this is 1.99 a week, and i dont know how well things sell conpaired to ebay. So i`m planning on listing about 100 dvds in the next week just to see if its worth sticking with, heres hoping.
  • I've been a memeber since august this year but only started listing items about 3 and a bit weeks ago. I must say i read everything on here and other forums and yes it was slow but we've worked hard and promoted it and i've had 18 sales totalling over £3200 in the last two weeks - not to my ebay standards but the sense of satisfaction has been about 10 times greater. i know it sounds like i'm boasting but really i'm pointing out there is money to be made - so keep going to build a better ebid and stick with it!

There is no such word as "bidded". I bid, you bid, they bid, Ebid ;)

    Hi All,
Just hoping for a little bit of advice and maybe a push in the right direction.
I currently sell on eBay, do a tiny amount of business through bigcartel.com and was working on a website [but my time seems to get overrun elsewhere so never gotten to finish this...]. I spend most days panicking about eBay feedback & being kicked off, and eBid seems like a reasonable option to take to try and establish myself in case of any eBay problems.
How do clothes sell on eBid? They are not branded, not ex high street etc but in the Japanese style, cosplay etc. Any thoughts on whether or not I have a chance on eBid?
    Any thoughts welcome :) x

Nothing sells as fast on Ebid.net as on Ebay, that's a fact at the moment. Buyers are currently more comfortable with less incentive to leave Ebay - they haven't been shafted like we have, after all!

Sales are picking up a little bit I find, but I think a) you need a lot listed. if you try 5 or 10 items just testing the waters they could sit there forever. Buyers like plenty of choice, and movement in a buyer's listings, something that shows they haven't just listed, wandered off and forgotten about their Ebid.net account.

    b) you need to promote - I mention Ebid.net everywhere I go (have you noticed yet heheheeh) and wear the T-shirt! (Free with seller+ registration).

    c) I (and a lot of others) stick flyers, fridge magnets etc. in every Ebay parcel, talking about how much cheaper I sell the same items for on Ebid.net (on account of I can afford to because I'm not getting shafted with fees every time I draw breath).

Just got paid for one of the last things I sold on Ebid.net, plus a request for a combined invoice for some others...
