Usernames - I'd suggest grabbing one that reflects what you sell rather than something that means nothing to anyone. I know this sounds silly, but I have a problem bidding on items being offered by strange, silly or cheeky names. I always think that if they haven't been serious enough to use a sensible name that they can't be sensible enough to be trusted. No offence meant to anyone, it's just my personal opinion. :)

Import tool - I'm more a buyer than a seller, so hopefully someone more techie minded will be along soon.

Great news - Ebid is up and running again for all us IE6 users who have been locked out for a week or so.

Let's hope it all stays up and running now :T

I started selling on Ebid a couple of months ago and have had 2 sales....and bought quite a few 'crafty bits' like ribbon etc. The prices were loads cheaper for the things I bought, that I don't really know why I never looked at it before.

I have bought lots of things from Ebay and sold a few things, but I won't be selling on it anymore... the fees are just too high to make it viable for a 'little' seller like me.

Everyone is very helpful on the Ebid forums and don't make you feel silly when you ask a simple question. It's the first place I log on to in a morning and even if I haven't made a sale, it's good to see that the sales for others are starting to come in steadily and more people have begun listing their items.

I used to love going onto Ebay and buying things, but now I can't even find half the things on the new Search pages and it seems full of big sellers that can't even be bothered to leave you feedback! I always leave it when I receive items.

I'm going to stick with Ebid and hope that it will give Ebay a run for its money!

I'm not quite sure it's in the same league as eBay just yet but it's certainly standing the test of time, which is good enough for me. I know someone who did their entire Christmas shopping off eBid last year and she's still astounded at how seldom she got outbid! I was in smug 'told you so' mode for weeks after that :)

Good luck with your bargain hunting and your sales. I have to admit that I tend to get carried away a bit when I venture into the forums both here and there! But they become so addictive! And I cannot resist a good bargain! :D

I can access the main site but can't access the forums, if that's any help.

    1. Ebay have made a lot of unpopular changes and are haemmorhaging sellers and listings.

    2. Ebid are picking up a lot of custom, acquiring large numbers of migrating sellers and listings.

    3. Ebid have had more than one DDOS attack previously.

    4. They appear to be having a lot of problems right now.

Am I the only one joining up dots here?.... I've said it before, I've got a nasty suspicious mind...
