Westie I don't know whether you've got mobile minutes or a landline package thats free after a certain time or at weekends but this number of FU's is free for me to call from either phone. 01926 320 700.
I am yet more confused by the other 2 methods shown on my diary now :rotfl: - it didn't say in the email why they were sending it to my bank, just that they are. I pay by monthly DD, as I am sure you both do as well?!
Lamb is my all time favourite meat, hence my distress at finding it run over. I usually save it for Christmas only!
Anyways, financials...
£24 paid to Nursery for tiny month of April.
£68.14 to Mr A - £6.74 of that smooshed
£16.09 to Mr L - mostly soya milk.
All April spends, and being applied against April in YNAB. A good portion of the Mr A's is household/baby wipes etc. Will keep sig totals updated with April because not keeping track in there of things just led me to give up this month. And I overspent EVERYWHERE. Just abysmal March.
Still... With only one day to go, (and lets make it a SFD) I can sweep it under the rug and start afresh.
In other news, Jellytot was angelic this evening. She drew me a first ever picture of a recognisable creature. She drew a chicken :rotfl: and then added an eye, two giant disconnected from the body legs, a swirly wing and a curly tail :rotfl: it actually looks like a chicken!!
We also made an easter crown together, and she paraded it around the house looking in every mirror. And we got out the finger painting stamper set and stamped lots of balloons and flowers and handbags and finger prints for a beautiful picture for daddy. Feeling very happy, as we had a lovely evening. She ate all of her dinner :j really well, no arguments! And got into her pyjamas etc, had her hair brushed and teeth done with minimum fuss. She knocked over the bin in a strop and had a time out at one point, but then we snuggled on the sofa playing tree fu tom on my phone together with a hot water bottle. She went to bed at 6pm... got up and came out to tell me Violet was broken (I turned her off internally) and had a mini strop about that and refused to cover herself back up... but when I told her if she got out of bed she wasn't going t nursery and I MEAN it... She went to sleep :T:T:T:T:T
Happy mummy tonight. Feeling much less stressed than I have in a while. Despite the lamb! :rotfl:

Lilty - I found myself agreeing with almost every paragraph of your post lol,
I am with Npower and I have already rung up last week and was told I could only get the credit back once they had sent a recent bill which they did, I just need to be in the mood to ring them, tonight is not the night - left work with an discrepancy in my till which is playing on my mind, I never have errors or very few...

Cant wait to flick over to April May June on YNAB and start again, I am shocked that I have spent over £200 on food this month, I must reduce this....

God don't even start me on the *red* :rotfl:
Just an awful month. Truly terrible. Never let me spend again. She says... about to buy a £130 coat... but it is only £35.99.. and waterproof. Don't remember the last time I owned a waterproof coat, much to my dads disgust.
Anyway I am not even telling you lot where this bargain comes from because you'll only go and spend more! :rotfl:

My ynab has started on April today as it's pay day! Thankfully as I also overspent in March
not a good month all round then huh! :rotfl:
Great to hear Jelly is finally getting it and that you mean business.....can I just ask if she didn't do what you asked would you stand by your threat of not sending her to nursery? Only I ask because I used to threaten my kids with things like that and one day ds2 called my bluff! I think it was a trip to the zoo i'd said he can't go on and that i'd leave him behind whilst I took his sister and older brother...well he turned around and said "fine!" and then carried on doing whatever he was doing. I didn't follow through with my threat as i'd arranged to meet a friend too (and ds2 with his 3 year old wisdom knew this) and after that he was an utter nightmare! So the next threat I made I made sure I would carry it through and I did...and then he was fine after that and behaved :rotfl: lesson learned the hard way there for me!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Hi DFW maybe it is some kind of backlash against having no money in January then a short month in February and finally getting back to some normality in March? Lots of us seem to have gone through it...
And.. Yes I genuinely would. She gets this cutting off her nose to spite her face thing from me, and even though it would mean a day spent looking after her instead of doing my own thing, I would honestly not take her to nursery and keep her home all day. :rotfl: - am I evil?
 at DS calling your bluff. I call Jellys all of the time. 'I don't want to eat my dinner.' OK *takes it away* - she screams for her dinner, and so on. So I think that has helped her know that I will do what I say I am going to. I am sure there would be times when I couldn't follow through on it, so I will make sure to always follow through on the threat!! Thanks for that advice.. Always good to hear from people who have the t-shirt!!
She kept getting up last night. 3am onwards we were wide awake. Continually putting her back in bed wasn't working, threats weren't working... She just seems wired at that time of the morning for some reason and it is horrific for me. The last thing I told her when she wouldn't go back to sleep was that today I would take the door handle off the inside of her door so she couldn't get out of her room. Her response, typically was: 'I don't want to get out of the room mummy' :rotfl:
But.. the handle sits on top of the fridge. And only the stick remains. And I can barely open it from the inside so she definitely won't be able to. Have gaffer taped up the screw holes so she doesn't hurt herself trying to get out. Gaffer taped the two big cracks on the door panel too which will stop the slightest bit of light coming through. They have always been there but just had cream masking tape on them so didn't keep the light out. So tonight I am closing all of the doors in the knowledge that she can't get out of her room and there is absolutely nothing in there for her to do. And I am going to get a decent nights sleep before work. I would try napping today but I am overtired and I just find it really hard. Especially in this wind! Windows are all rattling madly.

Hi, posted a reply so this may appear twice! Just wanted to say that I admire all the things you are doing to ensure that Jelly knows who is in control in your house! So many homes nowadays are ruled by the children and the adults walk on eggshells trying to keep their children happy. In the end everyone is miserable because what children really need, and actually want, is boundaries that do not move when they are pushed. Then they feel safe knowing that someone else is in control. Keep up the good work. It is hard when you are doing most of it by yourself but in the end you will have a much nicer life together. X0

Oh that is lovely!! Thank you so much for stopping by Moneywhizz. I truly do not intend to have a household ruled by children. I grew up with a few kids who came from those households and they were no holds barred nasty vicious little monsters for the most part, or so totally spoilt they seemed like Veruca Salt from The Chocolate Factory!!
Meeting at 15 past 3 with nursery teacher. Him has come over for it so should be here in about 20 minutes but with this weather I am slightly worried about the train lines!!
I managed to nap!!! :T:T weirdly with the curtains open and the doors open and Jellys door clicking in the wind (despite all windows being closed!) and my window rattling like mad and the noise of the trees being blown so hard they look like they will be uprooted.
Then woke up in a panic because I hadn't set an alarm and assumed it must be 9pm :rotfl:
Will be back to let all know what teacher says about the demands of a terrible toddler. They are a bit wet at nursery. They don't use the 'naughty' phrase. Just 'You make me very sad Jelly' so she comes home full of making everyone sad but no time-outs or anything and just chatters away to herself. 'You don't stand on tables Elliott, makes Janet berry sad. Don't bite your nips Elliott, make them sore, makes Janet berry sad!'
Just so you know.. nips is the unfortunate word she uses for lips.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
