Sorry to read such sad news and such a shock :(

Hope you got sorted out at the docs and enjoyed the curry. I love it when someone else cooks for me, though nearest is toast from DS :rotfl:

    Oh you lovely bunch...

What would I do without you all hmm?

I got seen quite quickly and got home by 6:15 last night. Confirmed I have a sinus infection, and an ear infection. Doc has gone straight for the big guns on the scale of antibiotics and hopefully I should feel better soon!

I was at work at 8am this morning, a whole half an hour early, as frankly, when I got out of the front door and was hit by a howling gale and pouring rain at 10 to 8, I couldn't face the walk. So a taxi it was! Boss asked why I was in so early if I wasn't very well. I said because if I didn't keep moving this morning I wouldn't have been here on time, so better far too early :rotfl:

Anyway the shock has worn off a little bit and am able to think slightly more clearly this morning. Albeit a woolly head from other matters.

Hope you all have a lovely day today. Sorry I didn't come on last night. I was just.. blergh. I ate my lovely korma, and there is so much left for tonight. And I had a vaguely lukewarm shower in my broken shower. And I got into bed!!

DFW I have the peak flow with me at work to send today!! :) xx

Everyone else.. much love and hugs :) xx

    Well...

    Worst evening on record.

Him text half an hour before I left work. Meltdown mode at home. Jelly had got hold of a box with a brand new bottle of cough syrup in it. Unbeknownst to me as I hadn't bought it before or opened it, it didn't have a child proof cap. Cue dark purple blackcurrant syrup poured into the middle of Jellys bed. Straight through duvet, bottom sheet and soaking into waterproof sheet. So instructions to Him on how to get it cleaned and pre-soaked ready to wash. Came home and child began yet more meltdowns. Worked herself up to the point she kept coughing and couldn't stop, so then my bedroom was covered in scrambled egg sick. Second shower of the day for her, screaming so loudly Him had to put his earphones in with music on to drown her out as he was beyond the point of anger and just trying to control his temper.

Meanwhile I was scrubbing my bedroom, followed by vacuuming and cleaning through to sort all of the mess. Put her to bed. She refused her milk before bed, then screamed the place down wanting it. She was offered it a second time and just stared sullenly even whilst having a count down. Milk gone again, more tantrums. Everytime we left the room, she got out of her bed (made up with blankets while the duvet dried on the radiator!) and threw everything in sight.

SO... Her room now contains Jellytot, her mattress and bed, a blanket and her dummy.

    - Changing table
    -Chest of drawers
    -bag of teddies
    -all of her books
    -alphabet and numbers sets
    -dolls pram plus doll
    -dolls bed plus doll
    -mini armchair
-set of 3 drawers full of toys
-endless other crap from under her bed... all re-distributed throughout my tiny little flat.

I am beginning a war with a three year old miniature version of myself. I will win because I have nearly 26 years more experience than she does at being the most horrendous child you could imagine. Trying to explain to Him my battle strategies doesn't bear repeating. He is 100% fully on board. However he is also tired just at the thought of the next 6 weeks of sheer hell.

All of the above means that instead of getting home, having cuddles with jelly then eating last nights leftover korma with a bit of TV and baking a giant chocolate cake for work, I have caved and gone and bought a cake as they all knew I was baking so it had to be comparable. £9 later. But at least I am not in the kitchen trying to bake it when I can't lean forward without my face trying to implode.

Antibiotics work best when you remember to take them in all the projectile scrambled egg and furniture throwing chaos. Just taken it. Having a shower and getting in bed. Seriously FML this evening.

I'm sure I used to be so upbeat. :rotfl:

    Love you all xx

Lilty that sounds so flippin stressful :( Poor you and Him and also the 'Tot even though she is being a proper menace - I'm sure she's not enjoying it either - the frustration outbursts of those terrible2s know no bounds:( But I really feel bad for you cos its the last thing you need after a long day at work and not being well yourself either. Wish I had more practical advice but wondering if there's any chance of you & Him getting a little break some time soon, jelly with the in laws or anybody else who might be able to help? It's a longshot but the 2 of you really sound like you could do with some P&Q and a little down time away from Hurricane Elliot..;)
She's almost 3 so who knows, maybe it will all come to a peaceful end soon! there is a definite switch from 3-4-5 when the ability to communicate better takes over some of the frustration triggers so that will help hopefully. blimey at moving all the stuff out of her room- drastic but necessary i think.. how long will you leave it like that? Hope your Friday is better Liltster... thinking of ya n luv atcha x

PMSL INOD - Me too!! Well I think so. But my third year school review only had three words written on it. 'Mean, moody & magnificent' - still got it somewhere. Loved that teacher. But yes, I was and can still be a nightmare. I have always cut off my nose to spite my face. I am the queen of it. I still do it now but I weigh up the pro's and con's before my Eff em all attitude decides to kick in with the hashtag #don'tevencare attached. On the plus sides my stubbornness, and complete and utter refusal to quit or listen to anyone else at times means I can be a wrecking ball in knowing down every wall that they put in front of me without blinking ;)

She will make an excellent human. But right now she is a horrific demon.

Levi... she isn't leaving my sight until she is TRAINED. And I mean that in every sense of the word. When she stops throwing things in a temper (this has dogged us from the day she learned how to let go of things she picked up) and learns that if she throws it, it gets removed until there is nothing left, cue her bedroom ;) and learns to listen and do as she is asked and not throw a strop until she gets her own way (never happening) she isn't going anywhere. Add to that my chain smoking, weed smoking in laws who do precisely as they please regardless of rules as soon as they are out of our sight... and my parents being 250 miles away. And it leaves me alone for 4 days and 5 nights of the week, and Him here to battle through the other 2 nights and 3 days whilst I am at work, with no genuine back-up.

But it has been done. There are millions of people on this forum who are bringing up children who survived past the age of three. Single parents. Parents who work full time. It can be done. It is no big deal and only what all children go through. I'm just fed up of the last 4 weeks of constant illness and drama!! :D:D

Big hugs all. Have chocolate cake. All is well.

totally understandable! i just remember it saved our sanity a few times when having  times in earlier LL days my wife and i had to dump him on someone for a couple of days to just catch our breath before one of us got sectioned :rotfl: and to be honest this wasn't even the terrible 2s, we found all of it too hard at times:o

but hey i know if anyone can do it you can, remember that whole thing about only being sent the things we are strong enough to deal with? that.
:) and of course she's gonna be an awesome human-bean!! this is all just part of the getting there process :D x
