Wow such sad news, the power of love.

Saving grace is they are back together now, reunited as were in peace and solitude.

Tough start to the day, :-(

  • Such terribly sad news Lilt. They must have truly adored one another, but their poor son being without them both now. So sad.

Oh no Lilt, thats awful :(:(:(:(:(

It's amazing how often things like that seems to happen - I see it in the paper quite often with older couples, either one dies and the other commits suicide, or literally withers away soon after from just not having the will to live without them. So damn sad - I have no words. Prayers and love to their son and all of you impacted by this at work, what a horrible shock. xx

How tragic and very sad. Hope your alright such shocking news. Some people just can't go on without their partners, must be awful for their relatives to deal with suicide. Watching a a programme the other night about suicide, not out of choice too tired to switch over and the stigma attached to it was horrifying. Everyone seemed to think it was a cowards way out when in truth they just couldn't find any other way to continue. Hugs all round x

Lilt that is so sad, I hope that they are re-united, so very difficult for those that are left behind though. Hugs.

    Hello guys...

Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments. I am still decidedly in shock. I can't get my head around the fact that 2 weeks ago my boss had a lovely meeting with them both and they were chattering away, happy as you like, with various ailments but nothing to dampen their spirits. And then I spoke to him the day he rang with the news. And that same day he was gone.

All in all, I think it is very sweet that he couldn't be without her. His words to boss were that he was so grateful at least it wasn't him who had gone first as she would have been beside herself and not able to cope. He must have known his plans at that point. I am broken hearted for them, and for their family.

In other news... they have finally ironed out the kinks in the alpha version of the new forums. And now I can drive you all nuts with coloured writing again!! :rotfl:

Seriously though.. I am having the worst day at work and things just keep compounding. I am now wearing the hats of two colleagues who have left and not been replaced (redundant colleague included) and am being branched out into things that frankly I am more than out of my depth doing. I am unqualified to do them. So I have no idea what their plans are. They haven't even formally told me the things I am taking on, but everyone else seems to know about it!

Am back off to work now. Have eaten muesli, a banana, a clementine and then lunch was 3 carrots with some low fat pesto and low fat houmous. Have a yoghurt and more fruit for the afternoon should the need arise but the lunch keeps me going rather well :)

Hope all are ok. Will try to catch up more tonight xx
