on the seagull front - I remember visiting Moushole in Cornwall with my family when I was about ten, having just convinced my dad to get me a lovely cornish ice-cream cone, I exited the shop just about to take a bit/lick and a beastly seagull swooped down in seconds and took the whole scoop of ice-icecream clean out of the cone - I stood there dumb struck looking at the empty ice-cream cone - devastated that my much looking forward to ice-cream was over in milliseconds..... flying devils I call them, think I have a whole army of them living on my roof, aunts and uncles too, one (un/Dis) perk of living seconds from the sea.....

goodnight to all those climbing those stairs to bedfordshire.....

No fair. I decided to be good and meanwhile you were all off gallivanting around with your chocolates!! To be fair I had 2 'squares' of marvellous creations. Which if anyone has seen the stupid layout could be anything from palm sized to little fingernail sized. They were middle sized so my halo is still on (if I ignore this mornings hot choc ;)) albeit slightly wonky.

Am glad I am not the only one with a tantrumming child. I was beginning to think this switch that has flicked in her head was a sign that she was the spawn of satan. Was waiting for her to draw three 6's everywhere... I too have learned the art of carrying small children by various straps around their middle area :rotfl: - I had to pick her up by the backpack in Sainsburys yesterday on the way home. Sigh.

    Westie I like your duvet!

Me&O I genuinely think there are women in this world I was meant to be in a relationship. I know you've only just got rid of the fella (autocorrect changed that to FLU :rotfl:) but would ya marry me? See I LOVE furniture shuffling. As Him remarks, I cannot be trusted if I have an empty house for a couple of hours. I hate wondering what is under the sofa. And even more so since I had a cat, followed by a small child. And I like making it look different. Amazing how moving the sofa to a different viewing point makes the whole room look bigger! :D I could go on forever.. I love it. I do love my newest layout. It is inspired. I've never had the sofa like this before. it is pretty awesome. There is a hidden area behind which is nice and big housing madams kitchen, table and chairs (behind the pouffe part of the sofa set up so she can see the tv but not get any closer!) and her chalkboard. There is then a shedload of space the other end of the sofa. I could breakdance :D and it is all comfy cosy near the TV which its never been before what with being such a big room.

Anyway I was meant to be asleep 8 minutes ago. Night night all. Catch up soon xxx

  • Had to laugh at the spawn of Satan comment! EVERY child has tantrums, some in the terrible twos, some when they are threenagers, and in the case of boy children, it can go on well into their thirties :rotfl:.

Hope you haven't done your back any mischief in your furniture removals (insert wagging finger here!).

Sleep well Lilty. Lots of love Xx

Why not Lilty, Levi can be bridesmaid - rainbow coloured frock of course! :rotfl:

I have much pangs of jealousy over your recent furniture shufflings, the setup sounds awesome. I do like to create little 'areas' with the furniture and Jelly's kitchen/art/holding pen space sounds perfect. :D

It's very liberating don't you think?! It's akin to de-cluttering for sure! A room that works = a restful mind!
I even have Oscar in on the act - he helped me (watched in excitement, took a step back and shook his head) move the kitchen/dining room table round several times a few months ago, only to put it back where it was, annoyingly as that really is the only way it fits. I've been considering a round table or a square one which extends into a rectangle, just so I can move where the current rectangular one is presently. :o

The new(ish) sofas are doing my head in at the moment too because they will only fit in the lounge in two ways - the second means I can't fit the rest of the cupboards/toy storage/crap in so I'm really left with one plan. This disturbs me greatly. I feel pinned down and stifled - I need to be able to move stuff!!!! There's great satisfaction in finding a layout that makes a room feel like it works, am I right, or am I right?!?

You've got me started now, might have to go and re-arrange my bedroom. Its a huge room, but the window, door, ensuite door and built in wardrobe doors are such that you can only really put the bed in one place. This bugs me beyond belief!!!! I have already looked into moving the door.

I'm planning on converting the garage when I can afford it (will be a while!), but just think of all that fresh, clean, empty space to play with! lol.

To those looking in (and backing away slowly) we're not mad, honest - try it! Move your sofa, it'll make ya feel better! :D:D:D:D:D

  • My dd didn't throw tantrums. Her party piece was to hold her breath when not getting her own way. I asked my lovely gp for advice. His reply, wait til she falls over then step over her. Can you tell he's a parent.

    Haaaaaaa!!!

Me&O classic. I apologise in advance for your furniture scrambling. My next house will be vetted for potential layouts first, great water pressure second, and decent plug socketry third. Anything else is redundant :rotfl:

INOD I had a friend who used to hold her breath until she passed out!! Her mum would immediately go running to do as she asked as soon as she started to hold her breath, 'because she will pass out' - my mum coached her to leave the room instead and watch where her DD couldn't see her. She would continue to hold her breath... go woozy and lie down on the sofa.. then lift her head and look for her mum.. then start shrieking if she didn't come running.. and by this point my mum would be holding her mum down to stop her going in.. and then finally her DD would just stop and do whatever it was she had been asked to do :rotfl: - a few weeks and she stopped doing it. As for your GP.. spot on! :D:D

I always used to wish I had the self discipline to hold my breath for so long I could pass out. I am too impatient and I just can't do it! :rotfl:

Lucky I already had a messed up back from the threenager spawn of satan fighting me every 2 hours from her eyedrops. So I figured I didn't have much to lose! The painting helped iron me out weirdly as I didn't use ladders, just stretched lots :D

    SERIOUSLY GOODNIGHT!! xx

Ooh I never move furniture :undecided I find it unnerving -haha- things 'feel wrong'to me after they move even if they are a practical improvement ! I used to think I had a natural flair for feng shui because I felt like I could feel vibes coming off furniture/lay outs etc and if they were' wrong or right'- but it turns out its more likely that I'm a bit of a loon :D
Lilt - that is one hella busy list of action! :j OCD overdrive!:D
I can imagine how your heart was in your throat with jellytot and the road incident.. I'm so paranoid about Luca running off, going near a road, going out of sight or being abducted that it is a true wonder we ever leave the house sometimes tbh!! Hope you have a great nightxx

    Wow...

So I am in pieces. At work.

The client whose wife died? He rang last week. And we were so devastated because they idolised each other and it was so sudden and she was only young? Well we sent flowers on Friday. Unbeknownst to us he killed himself the same day he rang us. Bless his heart and may they both rest in peace but my boss will be devastated. Other boss is ringing her to tell her. Because her son rang in this morning.

    I can't believe it.

I thought I was having a bad start to the day with my workload. But this.. Frankly my workload can do one. I can't believe what has happened. Their poor son. That poor man without his wife. His poor wife dying too early.

This is a very cruel world sometimes.

Oh my Lilty, this makes me so sad, I've just had goose pimples spread over me from head to toe reading your post and had to fight the tears. How terribly, terribly sad. I guess he just couldn't live without her and the one tiny shred of comfort is that they are together again.

Sending you and everyone who needs them, lots of hugs.
    Go easy on yourself today.
