Hello lovely threaders and Lilty fans! My DD came round tonight and its clear that in spite of the horrendous time we had between him being 15.5 and 19 he has really turned out to be a lovely man. He's twenty now and engaged and has taken it upon himself to be the peacemaker in the family. Turns out he went round to my parents tonight and had chats with them about the latest argument. Then he came to me and DD and had a similar chat.
As a result of his endeavours I've called my mum and wished her happy st Patrick's day and apologised for the things I did wrong (but no more than that as I'm learning to stand up for myself). I've told her that I really hope we can all move on and have left it at that. I'm not forcing DD to do anything she does not want to as that would be wrong and I won't give ground where it wouldn't be right.
The whole thing caused so much stress that I almost cried in front of my most challenging class today as I was feeling very sensitive. Frankly the class was appallingly badly behaved but I removed myself in time and they didn't see they had got to me. It's the first time I've ever let pupils get to me in that way. I am a very nice teacher and sometimes they can see caring as a weakness and frankly take the pee. So Ms tuffty nuttkins it will be for a few lessons so they settle down again. Any hints and tips from any of you who might possibly have been naughty or rude to teachers gratefully received Although I can't believe any of you would have been!!
Things are a bit brighter tonight thanks to my DS and all of you. Thank you!!!
I hope the pain soon goes Lilty and you get a good night's sleep with no disturbance from Jelly.
XxxxxxxWith family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!
