I never had mince pies for the Christmas dinner itself, why do they keep adding them in? Do other people have mice pies?

I have one in the evening, with a turkey sandwich.

I used to work in catering many years ago & they were always served with coffee after the meal during the month of december the xmas menu was served.

We never had a starter - and Xmas pud/custard stopped by my mid teens as nobody liked it. Also never had wine. Didn't have those pigs in blankets either/

Mince pies.... nobody really likes those.

We've always pushed the boat out at xmas, its only once a year.
Wine I like to enjoy all year round!

our Christmas day dinner includes all of the items in the link, except for the bread sauce and Yorkshire puddings. We also have prawn cocktail or soup as starter, fresh OJ/apple juice on the table as well as the wines, and a wide array of desserts (served well after the main course and well before the tea/coffee and mince pies are served). We are usually somewhere in the region of 3 hours over our meal (with rests in between) on Christmas day :).

Ha ha sorry! We always have a starter, main course, and a variety of desserts, and one is always Christmas pudding and brandy sauce, but the MINCE pies we have intermittently really before Christmas, never on the day itself, and we never have Yorkshires or bread sauce. I can't imaging many people having bread sauce these days?

You can take my freedom, but you will never take my bread sauce! Food of the gods. Also goes fabulously in turkey rolls on Boxing Day.
  • Do people really eat Yorkshires at Christmas? Weird (this is coming from somebody from Yorkshire!)

I would really rather go without Xmas pudding than have one that cost 98p :/

To weigh in on the mince pies we don't have them with the meal.

Absolutely compulsory in my house. Always has been, always will be. Yorkshire goes with all roast meals... and is part of the treat.
