You can take my freedom, but you will never take my bread sauce! Food of the gods. Also goes fabulously in turkey rolls on Boxing Day.
I've never had bread sauce..... what does it go with? Where do you plonk it?

I've never had cranberry sauce either, but I know you'd plonk that on the turkey.

I just have gravy on my Xmas dinner.

It's a lovely thick, creamy, savoury sauce. It's meant to go with the turkey.

Absolutely compulsory in my house. Always has been, always will be. Yorkshire goes with all roast meals... and is part of the treat.

I only do yorkies with beef.
I find it odd all the posts that say they are having them on xmas day with turkey!!!
Mind you, I find it odd the posts that talk about having two types of meat, I can understand (& I like) gammon & chicken or turkey, but to mix pork & beef!!!!!!

I have a gurt splodge of it on top of my turkey and cranberry sauce on the side of the plate. They both seem to enhance the flavour of everything else....lush, can't wait!!
    Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
    And now the final frame
    Love is a losing game

Same here, we have Yorkshire puds with all roast dinners.

Then again I am partial to a bit of cranberry sauce with my roast potatoes, regardless of what meats on my plate.
If my posts have random wrong words, please blame the damn autocorrect not me :D
  • Oh god, I am always devastated if there's no yorkies with christmas dinner!

My mil doesn't do them, or bread sauce....which is why we're doing it at home ourselves this year:rotfl:

I love bread sauce, hubby hadn't heard of it and refuses to try it to me it's a quintessential part of the christmas dinner!

I always find it interesting to see what other peoples christmas dinner quirks are...

And mince pies tend to be before christmas for us, maybe one or two in the evening.

Always have YPuds, never have bread sauce, I buy Cranberry sauce every year for MIL, she has a teaspoon and then in July I throw it out!!

    Love mince pies and wine!!

We have three courses and then later mince pies and coffee or tea.

Never understood bread sauce - may as well have a dollop of wallpaper paste on your plate as far as I'm concerned. I'd rather have some horseradish or spiced apple sauce, something with a bit of oomph at least.

I've never got the bread sauce thing, it's thickened white sauce really isn't it.
