The best thing your friend could do it talk them into going straight.
The problem then is - if they are subsequently caught - they will automatically think it was her.
So her first question must be - am i willing to lose my parents -as thats a possible outcome.
If she is - then the decision as become one step easier.
Don't mention pickles biscuits, fiddling politicians, illegal wars, high speed trains - but instead point out that someone on the NHS is awaiting treatment because of a lack of funds due to people like them.0 -
And some poor people would rather barely scrape by rather than defraud the public. Just because you don't have much money doesn't automatically mean you'll commit crimes.0

Hundreds if not thousands of disabled people have committed suicide after the Tory lead government paid a company called ATOS to lie and say they were miraculously cured and ready for work.
Sad fact is - none of the people commenting on here will give a s**t.
Figures suggest more people are not getting money they are entitled to - than the other way round. Meanwhile - David Cameron is still entitled to help with his fuel bills at winter.
But hey, who cares?0 -

I'd say they probably give more of a sh*t (about the genuinely disabled) than the benefit cheats do.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Ignoring benefit cheats because you view politicians fiddling as a greater crime is like ignoring your neighbour beating their dog because the Japanese slaughter whales.
No, it's akin to ignoring the annoying fly that's buzzing round the room and instead concentrating on swatting the malaria-carrying mosquito!

Anonymous letters are cowardly, in my opinion, and should only be used in cases where REAL harm is likely to come to the person reporting a REALLY serious and heinous crime.
An anonymous letter to report someone claiming benefits is pure snitching and cowardice, and they'll probably know who's done the reporting anyway.
Reminds me too much of the former Eastern Bloc country where something like 1 in 50 people were 'unofficial informers'. These people were the lowest of the low, grassing on their friends and neighbours to the Party for whatever reason, and acting all innocent.0 -

So you don't think a benefit cheat could have the potential to become violent or abusive to the person that ended their plundering of the public purse despite the fact they've already shown themselves to be morally bankrupt?**professor~yaffle** wrote: »An anonymous letter to report someone claiming benefits is pure snitching and cowardice, and they'll probably know who's done the reporting anyway.
The anonymous letter suggestion was for the letter to be sent to the benefit cheat advising that if they didn't stop they would be reported, not to the relevant authorities.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Someone snitching on another person is equally as 'morally bankrupt'. If you're going to tell tales on someone, that's your good right to do so, but don't try and hide and pretend you're not or you will look very stupid when (not if) you're found out!
Another very real danger is that someone else will be suspected of doing the grassing and that someone else will have to take the consequences for something YOU have done but they haven't. Still feeling morally superior?
And no, not everyone who claims benefits is a violent thug, sorry to disappoint you!0 -

Yes.**professor~yaffle** wrote: »And no, not everyone who claims benefits is a violent thug, sorry to disappoint you!
Can you show me where I suggested they were? We are talking about people that think it is okay to illegally claim benefits they are not entitled to, not people who claim benefits per se.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
