Sounds like you've got it sorted! Btw the early carnival finished about 7pm so plenty time to get home and into your pjs before the temperature drops and the first footers start roaming the streets. (Now I'm really showing my age!)
I'm another one who likes an early night and the smug satsfaction of a clear head on New Year's morning. I'll bet there's something on at Tynemouth or South Shields beaches if it's a nice day... :)
(Can recommend the chips and ice cream shop on Blyth beach if you haven't tried them yet Calicocat ;) )

Chips and ice cream together? ;)

I'd normally be the first into my PJs but will be going on from the carnival for a meal out...never been known for me to be so active before. Exhausted thinking about it!

I never thought about anything being on for Jan 1st. I don't think I've ever been out on Jan 1st. Usually too busy getting ready for work the next day :(

I have tried the fish and chips at the beach and they were good, but the icecream for me can't beat Seaton Deleval......proper icecream...took me 5 days to be told about there and will never go deviate ever.

Just waiting to get some space in freezer next year and will buy the tub.....yay!
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

    LavenderBees and calicocat,

You make me think of lazy, happy summer days and pools of sunshine. You have to get on well together with such great usernames.

Tend to keep odd hours due to working night shift, hence late response.....
It could be a mulder and sculley thing.....or a rosemary and thyme.

If we don't BOTH post back, then call CSI....something is up...lol.

Totally, don't let cats near them. My cat eats them, poisonous or not!

They usually have a stall at the weekend market at Tynemouth station too. Just thought that you might be interested ;)
Although I have to say that I'm a Minchella fan. If you're ever in the South Shields area..... Sorry to wander off thread but I love ice cream!

Sorry edited because I've just noticed this comment. It's another 'feel good' day if you let it be. Loads of people out walking or jogging as the start of their New Year's resolutions. You can join in or have a quiet snigger at those poor people who are obviously feeling very fragile, depending how charitable you are ;)
Lots of cheerful people about, ready to chat... honestly!
The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

Just to quickly reply about the ice-cream (as I too am mad about the stuff)...thanks for the tynemouth stall tip. I've been told about a fab place at Amble too (can't remember the name now), and a local Farm (can't remember that name either!!...mental note to reduce painkillers as my brain is mush with them).

Need to make some freezer space over the next month.

Not wandering off thread at all. It's all about how to make yourself feel better AND you've given me something else in our area that would be nice to do next year. I'd forgotten about the market at Tynemouth station, and it's lovely to visit there, then go for a nice Sunday lunch or get fish & chips at the beach.

I luvs anything with food involved or where you can drag food into it :rotfl:

And I will definitely get out for a walk on NY day :)

    There's a few around - I occasionally pass Morwick Farm near Acklington...not been in....yet...:D.

Maybe next year can be the Year of the Ice Cream...every weekend spent sampling ice cream at different places :T

That would make a fantastic blog and you might be able to pick up sponsorship from advertising. :rotfl:
