Absolutely brilliant! I'm so chuffed that such a positive outcome has been achieved for so many of us from your post. I've certainly been inspired. Thank you so much for posting your query originally.
It's one of those posts that should be brought to Martin's attention to help him realise what a fabulous community he has formed.
Wishing you, and everyone else, a fabulous Christmas and New year and if we get to to the Carnival I'll be watching out for, and certainly thinking of you. Please wear a pink carnation or an mse sticker!
(Pity about the allotment party, maybe you should start a new tradition?)
Love Eeny
If I was truly OS, I'd be making an MSE badge out of toilet roll middles and sticky back plastic :rotfl:
Does that show my age?
But thank you for telling me about the carnival. I'm really looking forward to it! :T0 -

No pressure then!!
But we won’t know if you don’t tell us……Not saying you should lie….just be a bit evasive or economical with the truth :silenced:
But honestly there will be people reading this thread that envy you and your confidence in doing something positive and blowingat the situation you find yourself in.

Hello,
I haven't read the whole thread, just the first page so far.
Sounds like you have had a bummer year! My dad died sept before last, so it is weird for me not getting the phone call, I know exactly what you mean on that front.
I see you are also local to me with you mentioning Newcastle (upon tyne?...not under Lyme) with you mentioning beaches etc. I went down to blyth beach the other night at 8pm with a friends son I was looking after...not quite as lit up as I had imagined but luckily we had a torch...just moved to that area so wasn't sure what to expect.
Anyhow, i'd be happy to meet up with you for a walk or meal...whatever you like, it's a tough time for you, but it will get better. I drive, so if transport is a problem I can pick you up from somewhere you'd prefer.
I'm nursing staff so work a lot, but as luck would have it this year am off due medical reasons for much of the xmas this year...nothing freaky..had an Op on my arm!!.....lol.
If that appeals to you just send me PM and we can organise something i'm sure.
I do this on a mobile...so can't do back and forth 'chat' easily as phone sometimes crashes, just so you don't think I have ignored a reply etc.
We have one thing in common from the start and that's cats.
Wow....i really should have read past the first page!! You go girl, sounds like you have a fab plan and lots going on now....good for you. if anything goes pete-tong offer still stands however.
Pink champagne another thing in common, and nothing wrong with eating xmas cake in the bath......and isn't life much nicer with fairylights. I seem to have moved into the set of National Lampoons Xmas Vacation however. Walked into bathroom other evening and the whole thing is lit up with blue light from someone else's outside decs.....the national grid is going down...and it's all due to where I live.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

No, I'm not confident at all. I just know I have to change things as being so sad and lonely isn't the way I want to live. And the only person who can change that is me, so I will gird my loins, stick my chin in the air and get to it.
And, yes, I know I could tell a few porkies on the thread, but I'd only be cheating myself really...whilst you're all very lovely, it doesn't affect you really if I decide to stay under a duvet for 2 weeks, But it will affect me, so if I decide not to do something, I think I'll admit it.....why not? I'm human, I'm tired, I'm numb with emotions that don't seem to want an outlet yet, but I'll do what I can. And I WILL be all the better for it

Hah! I'll know who to blame then:rotfl:
Life is a million times nicer with fairy lights, you are completely right on that, and as you're a cat person, too, on the basis of both these statements, I've decided you can't possibly be a mass murderer. I'll PM you :eek:0 -

Lol....no, not a mass murderer. ...but you might be. although probably not with that name...but hey, ted bundy was a pretty popular bloke by all accounts at first..!!
I'm female by the way, if that isn't obvious.
We can both be cautious if you are happy with meeting up to do something, can arrange things without numbers etc exchanging...I haven't met anyone from here ever, and have only once done the PM thing with someone. So new ground for both.
I'll be the one in the grey overcoat, brown cap, orange wellies, red flower in my hair, and the police following in an unmarked car............kidding.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... LavenderBees and calicocat,
You make me think of lazy, happy summer days and pools of sunshine. You have to get on well together with such great usernames.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

Sounds like you've got it sorted! Btw the early carnival finished about 7pm so plenty time to get home and into your pjs before the temperature drops and the first footers start roaming the streets. (Now I'm really showing my age!)
I'm another one who likes an early night and the smug satsfaction of a clear head on New Year's morning. I'll bet there's something on at Tynemouth or South Shields beaches if it's a nice day...
(Can recommend the chips and ice cream shop on Blyth beach if you haven't tried them yet Calicocat)
The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.
