Hypnosis, moi? Certainly not
Ha ha Bento Babe, I like that!
Food dividers (baran) can be purchased from Japan Centre or from Jbox. To be honest, I don't use them so much, I find that silicone baking cups work better. You can also use lettuce as a divider in bento. Another option is regular bun or muffin cases, these aren't waxed on the inside though as proper bento liners are. So they would only be good for drier foods, nothing moist or oily would keep too well.
I added LOADS of new bento blogs I found today to the reading list on the blog. Wowee, it will keep me entertained for weeks!
Blog link is now in my profile so I don't have to keep pm'ing you lot0 -

Hi brief question - I've seen a lot of bentos that have things like dumplings and mini burgers, now im at college and don't have access to a microwave for lunch, does anyone know if these are nice enough cold, ie defrosted/heated the morning before i want to eat them and then eating them cold again? Can't quite stretch to a thermal bento just now..... Thanks all

hi, those are all good for bento cold. I've packed them before. We've also packed french toast which worked surprisingly well! Hmm what else.... ah croquettes too, they are nice and really quick to make with leftovers.
Previously we've packed mini pork pies, pasta, spare ribs, chicken fried rice, tonkatsu pork. You can basically pack anything you like. I'm going to make another freezer batch of goodies this weekend, saves time during the week. Freeze things in small portions then you don't have to worry about prising frozen goods apart to get a portion off. Also save old plastic take away tubs, they're good for freezing bento portions in
If you're worried about food safety, small gel packs and thermal bags are quite cheap and keep the bento cool until you're ready for it. Pound shops are a good source for these, if you're stuck finding them try lakeland for the gel packs and Japan Centre for the small thermal bags. Also keep an eye in supermarkets end of season clearance lines, they can be good for picking up little bits and pieces for lunch packing.
If you need any more help, just shout, I'll try my best to help0 -
