Where does everyone get their bento boxes? And do you make it for yourself or children? I'm trying to decide if I can be brave enough to make them for me and not little 'uns

I have just bought two of these to replace the twins original laptop lunch boxes.

They arrived yesterday and they are so cute :j

I've been looking at those, very pleased that you can get them in UK. Got an original one but this one has two with lids on which would be really handy!

Laptop Lunches have also launched bento buddies, which offer a different configuration of inner tubs.

They are not available from Amazon just yet but will be soon. They can be found on Ebay atm but the shipping is a bit steep.

There are a few places in UK and also international places who ship to UK. I make them for me currently and sprog will be back on them come school in September.

For ease of UK peeps, I listed the companies who I have found will supply to UK on my blog:

Whilst I never really bothered with the bento equipment or food styles I am gradually using more bento principles in the way I pack my lunchbox (that is to say pack it all in tight so it can't roll around and mix, meaning I can use less cling film and tin foil).

I have to say that I'm hooked on making these for my son each day. It's quite theraputic to spend 15 minutes at the end of the day putting together something that I know will brighten his day, and knowing that he'll eat every scrap of it. Since making these it's also worked out much cheaper than an average lunch box. The ones i have made are nowhere near as decorative as the ones in the link, but hey, they make us both happy :j

Oh, and bento is a traditional japanese lunchbox of either one two or three tiers. The aim is to fill the box and not be able to see any of the bottom of the box. The boxes themselves are quite small compared to a normal tupperware box but the idea is to cram in lots of little bites rather than say a sandwich, bag of crisps, apple etc.

I am absolutely stunned. Beautiful house, beautiful child, lovely pets, hard-working husband.... not to mention that YOU are beautiful and that you somehow find the time and the pleasure to produce these fantastic lunchboxes. Well done :T:T:T

PS I feel very small............. * shrugs * * cries*

The more you use the bento techniques for packing a lunch, bento style or otherwise, the quicker you get. I'm eating a lot healthier and a more varied diet now as a result. As an added bonus it makes lunch a little bit more fun ;)

Anyone use a Sand De Panda? I can't work out if there's another way of making sealed edge crustless sandwiches so wondering whether anyone has this and what do they think of it?

If i'd spent loads of time preparing a lunch box that fancy, i'd be really annoyed if somone ate it and spoilt my work.
