I don't car what you think. Or anyone else. As long as it's legal and I enjoy it I'll continue. As will many people. We have no need to justify anything to anyone and espcially not to people who pop over with no knowledge to criticise and talk down to us.
FYI a company running a small competition on FB can hit thousands of likes and get similar shares for peanuts compared to paying FB , if you ran a FB page you'd know what they cost and it's robbery. Companies benefit hugely, which is why they do it. There again, why bother yourself with facts when you can simply talk rubbish and criticise eh?
You're misunderstanding and getting very em... strong in your words?
I gave a light hearted post with thoughts, simply thoughts. People then went on to say what they thought. It's opened up my eyes and my original post wasn't a generalisation anyway and I applauded those who give to friends and family as it's nice. But you continue to post like you're so upset? My replies have been to show oh I understand more now but you post saying I don't care what you or anyone else thinks. So what? You shouldn't. I was being nice and trying to show I understand and get it now that it shouldn't really be a issue for companies (it isn't a issue for me, I only simply wondered maybe that's why they do what they do) but it seems some have taken it too personally. It's a discussion forum, no one needs to get upset or post like that especially when the other person is not getting all heebie jeebie about it (I'm not talking for the other posters but myself as you quoted my post).
Continue comping and enjoy it and your wins and whatever you do with them.Comping is for fun too after all.
I'm don't comp a lot but I do admire those who do and get wins as it's a positive thing.

How many entered because they knew she wanted one?
Care to explain how anyone NEEDS a scooter?
Very poor quality trolling there.
A very childish response.
Just because somebody doesn't agree with you, and you have no argument to make your case, does not make the other person a troll.
And please learn to read. I said 'how many, do you think, didn't need/want on.'
I was using the scooter as an example because I was quoting a post about a scooter.
I did I fact make the point earlier about nappies. ( but you choose to ignore that one.)0 -
Maybe we should all kiss and makeup we are money savers after all0

well, I enter for everything and anything and either keep it, give it away or quite often sell it and I don't feel bad. It has changed my life with great experiences and the lives of my friends, family and some charities I support. It is a great source of much needed extra cash, too, when I sell something but I don't judge anyone and nobody has a right to judge ME. It's my time I am investing after all, and my effort.
Exactly :T
Well said :T:T:
That's not the way I personally comp but I totally agree with what you have said, it is nobody elses business but your own and no one should judge you :T:T:T“I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.” - Billy Joel

:rotfl::rotfl:How can you tell a 'professional comper' anyway? Do they have special computers? Special handwriting? Secret code embedded in their clicks to win:rotfl::rotfl:That's just too silly for words. At what level does someone become 'professional' and not just 'having fun' or 'doing this whilst I can't do other stuff'?
And you people who want to snark at compers. REALLY? It's your business? I can't imagine getting worked up enough over someone else's hobby/pastime to come ranting on like some demented fishwife about something that is just not my business. Weird behaviour.
Comp if you want to. Don't if you don't. Pass judgement? You have no right :T0 -
I have been comping for six years now, whenever i have spare time i enter everything and anything i can to be able to either use, gift or sell. I don't care what anti-compers think of what i do the same as i don't care what they do.
At the end of the day it's my hobby and one that benefits me greatly ,afterall i have two children to provide for on my own.
OH AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL MY FB AND TWITTER,MSE FRIENDS FOR THE ADVENTS STARTING TOMORROW!0 -
I don't give a monkeys what anyone else thinks ,if i see a comp for something I don't want I enter because I see ,lets say an exercise bike for example as something that I could sell to go towards something I would like that I haven't been lucky enough to win, also i have won 5 toys this year, they are being picked up on Friday by someone who is taking part in our local bikers Xmas Toy run for those little'uns who are less fortunate than others so it's a win win situation! . I am also a customer of Frankie and Benny's but not entering this, and now they have decided to judge me for my hobby , I may just take my custom elsewhere!0

Have a look at the comps listed on the non-chat thread, 'trolls'. I guarantee one of you will be doing advents this time next year.
We will see you again...it is inevitable once you peer through the comps front door. There is no going back...you are one of us now.0 -

How many people, do you think, entered that didn't need/ want one ?
How many do you think?
Personally, I think they are in the minority. There are so many comps these days, that to enter them all, means that you need an awful lot of spare time which most of us don't have. As far as I can tell, the majority of people on these boards enter only the comps for things they want/need, or that they know someone in their lives wants/needs.
Not that there is anything wrong with entering them all if one would wish to. Nowt wrong with that either.
Shegirl - your post about getting presents that your Mum had won and or got as a bargain sounded really ungrateful. It might not have been exactly what you wanted, but it was a gift nevertheless. Which is more than a lot of people in this world get.February wins: Theatre tickets0
