"Good afternoon folks. We've had a few people ask us to clarify number 13 of our terms & conditions. We define a 'professional comper' as someone who uses multiple accounts to enter a competition to increase their chances of winning. We included this to try and ensure a fair chance for all to win. As far as we are aware, none of the entries posted so far have been entered by a 'professional comper' so all will be entered into the prize draw."
Clarification, or a realisation they made a PR balls-up! after all why use the word professional in the first place and not cheat?0 -
This is a money saving website nothing wrong with entering competitions to save money #justsaying.
Smart companies embrace compers as they give them loads of publicity and we do come back, we have to eat, we have to buy clothes, we buy phones, we watch tv, we go to the theatre and the cinema...
Cracking down on unfair practices such as entering comps with multiple accounts is one thing. That person is a cheat, cheats exist in all walks of life. The majority of compers have one account and hate unfairness.
Speaking as someone who has run competitions and enters them myself I pray my competition is picked up by MSE so loads of lovely compers spread the word! Some will come back and some will not, that's life.0 -

I have entered a couple of competitions. But I only do it if I actually WANT the prize on offer.
I do think that a lot of people enter them just for the sake of it, no matter what the prize is.
Why try and win nappies if you don't have, or know of someone with, a baby.
I think the fact that there is a FB page where people can swop sell prizes just proves that point.0 -

If it's something you really want fine, but entering so much for anything isn't right. If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

I entered loads of competitions to win a scooter for my son, i got notified of one and then one just turned up. I had no use for 2 scooters so sold the other one and bought him somethings else. I dont make a habit of selling wins as i enter for things i need but sometimes its inevitable.would love to win an ipad!

What do you mean by publicity? You share their website with your other freeloading friends?
You're not exactly valued customers. More like leeches. You don't go back once you've had your freebies.
They don't want your publicity, so nothing for you to get mad about.
TROLL ALERT :rotfl::rotfl:
Check your 'facts' before making sweeping statements! :rotfl::rotfl:MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOUR0 -
I actually agree entering for things you don't want or need is not what I do but then you may have won a runners up prize and it may have been the first prize you wanted. So what's wrong with selling it or swapping it? Unless it's in the T and C's you can do with your prize whatever you want.

But you entered because you wanted a scooter !!!
How many people, do you think, entered that didn't need/ want one ?0
